Fall is the Perfect Time for a Stampin’ Up! Swap

Classes / Events/ Holidays / Special Days/ Stamping/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

I think Fall is the perfect time for a Stampin' Up! Swap. Last night, some of my team members, customers and some other “crafty friends” got together for our monthly Swap Your Heart Out card exchange. This time our theme was cards with buttons. When we exchange cards, we make one for each participant. Here is my “haul”:

I love all of the fall themed cards and the variety. My card is the button ornament one at the bottom.

Now I have to confess something straight up…I am a button hoarder. My craft room is filled with buttons and I cannot possibly use them all in even two lifetimes. So when this month's swap hostess chose cards with buttons as her theme, my heart literally skipped a beat. WHAT? I'm going to have to part with some of my treasures? There were 12 ladies in the swap this time so I had to use SIXTY of my precious stash…GASP!

I'm happy to say I survived and still have plenty to use on new creations!

Thanks for popping in today and have a fabulous weekend!

Painted Harvest With Burlap Background

Announcements/ Classes / Events/ Online Classes/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

The Painted Harvest Stamp Set is certainly one of my top 5 sets in the Holiday Catalog! This Painted Harvest With Burlap Background card would even be perfect as a place card for your seasonal table! Instead of the word “hello”, personalize each card with your guests' name. The Burlap Background Stamp adds just the right amount of “texture” to this card and makes it pop a bit more than just having all the white space.

This stamp set also comes as part of a bundle, along with a unique leaf punch. If you purchase the bundle instead of buying each item separately, you'll save 10%!

Double Embossing Technique Using Dragonfly Dreams Thinlits

Big Shot/ Classes / Events/ Online Classes/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques/ Tuesday Tips

Hey stampers! Today I want to share a card featuring the Double Embossing Technique Using Dragonfly Dreams Thinlits. Say that five times fast!

I really should call this Triple Embossing because of the “HAPPY” dry embossing on the top of the card. I did this using the Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Double Embossing Technique Using Dragonfly Dreams Thinlits

These two little gems add some quick texture and definition to your projects.

My multi-colored dragonfly is where I used double embossing. Let me tell you the steps.

First, I cut a piece of Shimmery White cardstock to 3″ x 4″. I then traced around the solid dragonfly image. Next, I used Sponge Daubers to apply 5 colors of ink around the image. Last I cut out the traced image using the detailed thinlit.

Double Embossing Technique Using Dragonfly Dreams Thinlits

Finally, take a Versamark Pad and rub over the die-cut image, coat with Dazzling Diamonds Embossing Powder and heat. Do this a second time. You will have a beautiful double-embossed image!

Visit my You Tube Channel to see a step by step video for this fun technique.

These thinlits have a coordinating stamp set that gives you even more options for your papercrafting.

I also have a Video Class Tutorial available, complete with a color PDF. You'll learn how to make these three projects and a variety of new techniques.

CLICK HERE to visit the class page now.

Thanks for popping by today; I hope you learned something new!
