Block Spritzing Technique Using Flirty Flowers

Holidays / Special Days/ Paper crafting/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques/ Tuesday Tips

Hey stampers? Did you know that you can use your Clear Blocks for a fun technique? Let me show you the Block Spritzing Technique Using Flirty Flowers. This technique is so versatile. You can use virtually any stamp set and any ink color. Besides your favorite stamp set and ink, you just need a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water.

Block Spritzing Technique Using Flirty Flowers

Here are the instructions; give this a try!

Supplies:

  • Stamp SetsFlirty Flowers (143872); Bunch of Blossoms (141573)
  • Card Stock – Whisper White (100730); Dapper Denim (141414)
  • Stamp Pads – Dapper Denim (141394); Emerald Envy (141396); Versamark (102283)
  • Misc. – Watercolor Paper (122959); Clear Block E (118484); Stampin’ Spritzer (126185); Aqua Painter (103954); Heat Tool (129053); White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (109132); Embossing Buddy (103083); SNAIL Adhesive (104332)

Measurements:

  • Whisper White:   4 1/4″ x 11” (score at 5 1/2″)          2 1/8” x 5 1/2″
  • Dapper Denim:   2 1/4” x 5 1/2”
  • Watercolor Paper:          2” x 5 1/2”

Instructions:

  1. Apply Emerald Envy ink on one side of Clear Block E and apply Dapper Denim onto the other side by pressing the stamp pads directly onto the block.
  2. Use Stampin’ Spritzer to spritz water onto the block. Should take about 4 pumps to get the amount of water needed. Flip the block over quickly and place onto the Watercolor Paper at the top. Hold in place until the white spots are filled in with ink.
  3. Repeat process with the bottom of the Watercolor Paper.
  4. If there are white spots that haven’t absorbed the ink you can take an Aqua Painter to move ink into those areas.
  5. Lightly sprinkle with salt and use the Heat Tool to dry. Brush off the salt to reveal the mottled look.
  6. Make sure the Watercolor Paper is completely dry before proceeding. Rub the Embossing Buddy across the paper. Use Versamark ink to stamp the flowery image, sprinkle with White embossing powder and then use Heat Tool to finish embossing.
  7. Use SNAIL adhesive to adhere the various layers together and then adhere to the card base.
  8. Use Dapper Denim ink to stamp with sentiment.

Where Are You Christmas?

Classes / Events/ Holidays / Special Days

Can you believe Christmas is almost here! I’ve been listening to Christmas songs during the day while I work. We do all sorts of fun things at our office, including cube decorations. Our Underwriting gang is doing a “Grinch” theme and I am loving it!

Where Are You CHristmas?

Have you seen this movie? Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear this Faith Hill, Where Are You Christmas?, one of the songs from the movie.

https://youtu.be/P14jxKY3Gy8https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=faith+hill+christmas&view=detail&mid=E8C8FB8FFE685A6AA118E8C8FB8FFE685A6AA118&FORM=VIRE

I think this song captures the best moment in the movie, when the Grinch’s heart became full of love and spilled over to the folks in Who-ville.

Love. Isn’t that what Christmas is really all about? Yes, the presents with glittery bows, the smell of Christmas cookies baking in the oven, spending time with family and friends are all wonderful. Who doesn’t love shaking that special present under the tree in hopeful anticipation? The joy in my grand-cherubs eyes brings ME much joy, too. But truly, without love, where would we be?

If you’ll indulge me for another moment, I want to share a couple of pictures from our Girls, INK Christmas party last night. My heart is always so full after our annual party. Even though not everyone could attend, it truly is an evening filled with laughter and love. We come from different places, all joined Stampin’ Up! for different reasons, but we truly love each other and what we do!

Where Are You Christmas?

Where Are You Christmas?

Love. Yes, my heart is full of love this season. I have wonderful family and friends whom I dearly love and love me. And, I believe, I have an even greater love. The love of God in the love of His son Jesus. Indeed I am truly blessed.

Love. I wish lots of love to you and your families as we head into this Christmas season. Thanks for stopping by today!

Barcelona Adventures Day 1 and 2

Holidays / Special Days/ Stamping

Hey stampers! We made it to Barcelona. Our flights along the way were fabulous, especially the one “across the pond”! The Business Class “pods” allowed us both to sleep, so we arrived at our final destination refreshed and ready to go. Five minutes after taking the elevator up to our Airbnb the power went out. No flashlights in sight so we headed up the hill to try to find one. Success! We found 2. Made contact with our Airbnb host, he contacted the power company and within a couple of hours all was well.

We journeyed down to a local tapas restaurant and had a lovely assortment of local favorites. We had grown to love this place last year when we stayed a few extra days in Barcelona after our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip, a Mediterranean Cruise. We might just head out to it again tonight!

Today we joined several others for a “foodie” tour around the Gracia District. We are actually staying in Gracia, but it encompasses a much larger area. We had chosen a “Devour Barcelona” tour and we enjoyed every minute of it. Our guide, Misty, came to Barcelona 4 years ago from Ireland, and loved it so much she stayed. She was a fabulous guide and we learned so much. We had about 9 different stops and we ate in all of them! 🙂 Here are a few of the places.

Barcelona Adventures Day 1 and 2

When I get home I’m going to contact Stampin’ Up! to see if opening in Spain might be on their radar!
