Remarkable You and Stampin’ Blends

Announcements/ Holidays / Special Days/ Stamping

Hey stampers! Only FIVE more “sleeps” and then Dave and I will be off to Barcelona, Spain for the Thanksgiving holiday. Never fear though, I'll still be posting and will keep you up to date on all the Stampin' Up! News. Today I wanted to share a fun card using the stamp set Remarkable You and Stampin' Blends. This card is very easy to create so instead of making just one, stamp a whole stack!

Remarkable You and Stampin' Blends

You can easily change up colors to use scraps you have on hand. Scraps lend themselves well to this “paint chip” card. I'm going on a retreat with some crafty friends when I return from Spain so I'll be making a bunch of these for upcoming birthdays.  Scroll down to the end for the instructions and measurements.

Speaking of birthdays, Remarkable You is only one of the stamp sets that will be on sale during Stampin' Up!'s annual Extravaganza from November 20-26. Watercolor Resist Project Tutorial – Cheers to the Year

Product Information/ Stamping

Hey stampers! I had the best weekend! Friday night I joined a dear customer who gathered friends together for a stamping “playdate”.  I was invited to teach some fun techniques to stamping newbies in addition to some of her regular gang.  It was so much fun! We used the Painted Harvest stamp set, still one of my faves from the Holiday Catalog. Next, I scored tickets to a Dallas Stars game in a suite! Let me tell you,  that is the way to see a hockey game! Sunday, fun times with the grandcherubs and granddogs.  Last, but not least, my Dallas Cowboys won! Couldn't have asked for anything more! 🙂  That brings you up to date on my weekend and now on to my project share for you today: Watercolor Resist Project Tutorial – Cheers to the Year.

Fall is the Perfect Time for a Stampin’ Up! Swap

Classes / Events/ Holidays / Special Days/ Stamping/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

I think Fall is the perfect time for a Stampin' Up! Swap. Last night, some of my team members, customers and some other “crafty friends” got together for our monthly Swap Your Heart Out card exchange. This time our theme was cards with buttons. When we exchange cards, we make one for each participant. Here is my “haul”:

I love all of the fall themed cards and the variety. My card is the button ornament one at the bottom.

Now I have to confess something straight up…I am a button hoarder. My craft room is filled with buttons and I cannot possibly use them all in even two lifetimes. So when this month's swap hostess chose cards with buttons as her theme, my heart literally skipped a beat. WHAT? I'm going to have to part with some of my treasures? There were 12 ladies in the swap this time so I had to use SIXTY of my precious stash…GASP!

I'm happy to say I survived and still have plenty to use on new creations!

Thanks for popping in today and have a fabulous weekend!

Remarkable You – Masculine Greeting Card

Holidays / Special Days/ Mojo Monday/ Paper crafting/ Stamping

Hey stampers! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I got to play in my stamp room AND take my 2 of my grandcherubs on a shopping trip. What could be better! Today's project is a Remarkable You – Masculine Greeting Card. It's so much easier for me to make girly girl cards than to make “manly” ones. I think this one fits the bill quite nicely for any guy!

Remarkable You - Masculine Greeting Card

The Cajun Craze and Early Espresso inks work perfectly to create rich tones in this card. Notice the accent pieces of Wood Grains Designer Series Paper DSP) on the front and inside of the card. When you use smaller pieces, instead of covering up the entire card front, your paper will go SO much farther!

Speaking of DSP, have you heard the great news? Starting October 1 and continuing through the entire month of October, when you purchase three packages of select Designer Series Paper, you'll get another package for FREE! Stampin' Up! has included select Specialty and Designer Series Paper Stacks this year as well! Here are the Designer Series Paper Sale Items:

Remarkable You - Masculine Card

Did you notice the Wood Textures Stack used on today's project is included! Just like our 12 x 12 DSP paper, this 6 x6 stack is double-sided, giving you unlimited choices. One additional feature of our 6 x6 packages is they are no longer attached at the top so it is so easy to pull out a single sheet without fear of tearing it! Why not click here to go to my online ordering site and then bookmark it. When October 1 rolls around, you'll be ready to hit the DSP Sale!

I've included pictures of all the project supplies below and it you would like a PDF with detailed measurements and instructions, please just email me!

Have a great week and I hope today's sample inspires you!
