2 Minute Tool Tip

Announcements/ Tuesday Tips/ Videos

I know you may think I've lost my mind when I share this 2 Minute Tool Tip! It's so simple but something both I and many of my customers overlook from time to time. (and it really might only be a 1 minute tip, depends on how fast a reader you are…ha!)

Have you ever ended up with cardstock that looks like this after you cut it? I sure have…especially Stampin' Up!'s Whisper White.

Instead of changing my blade (so I can squeeze just a few more cuts out of it), I'll cut the cardstock and then use my fingernail to even out the rough edges. I know this sounds so silly, but my customers tell me they do it, too!

So here's the TIP: I'm all about saving money in my papercrafting and whenever I find a way I definitely pass on to my social media followers and local customers; but using your trimmer blades beyond their useful life will end up COSTING you money in ruined paper.

Do yourself a favor and invest in a couple of bags of these cutting blades, so you'll always have a spare when you start noticing the ragged edges on your projects.

The cost is only $6.00 for 2…plus a little for tax and shipping.

And once you have that new blade in your trimmer, here is a fun project for you to make…measurements and instructions at the end of the post.

This project is created with items that are in the upcoming 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

BUT…you can purchase one of two bundles right now that will give you the supplies AND some free products, but only until May 31.  Just click on either picture below to see what is included in each bundle…including the free products!

Here are the instructions so you'll be all ready to start creating when your bundle arrives!:

  • Stamp Sets – Eastern Beauty (143675)
  • Card Stock – Blushing Bride (101650); Very Vanilla (101650); Fresh Fig (144242)
  • Stamp Pads – Fresh Fig (144082); Lemon Lime Twist (144086)
  • Misc. – Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper (144147); 2017-2019 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers (144033); Very Vanilla Lace Trim (141672)

  • Blushing Bride Card Stock                    8-1/2” x 5-1/2”
  • Fresh Fig Card Stock                           5” x 3-1/2”
  • Very Vanilla Card Stock                      4-3/4” x 3-1/4”
  • Designer Series Paper (lemon lime twist)   3-1/4” x 1”
  • Designer Series Paper (fresh fig)               3-1/4” x 1”
  • Designer Series Paper (gold foil)               4” x 1/2”

  1. Take 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Blushing Bride card stock, fold in half, and crease with bone folder to form card base.
  2. Take 4-3/4 x 3-1/4 Very Vanilla card stock and adhere DSP strips (3-1/4 x 1 each) to left side. Stamp greeting in Fresh Fig. Stamp circle and little accents in Lemon Lime Twist. Use Fresh Fig marker to place accent dot in center of little diamond shapes.
  3. Adhere to 5 x 3-1/2 Fresh Fig card stock and stick this entire panel to card front. Add specialty DSP (4 x 1/2) piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals on each end. Slip 4” piece of lace trim underneath and tie in knot.

Hope you enjoyed today's 2 Minute Tool Tip and fun project!

SO Excited About My New, Updated Website!

Announcements/ Videos

Hey stampers! I am so excited about my new website!  We are still working out some of the kinks but will be posting some fun projects and other stuff real soon.

This weekend I'll be at a retreat with some friends who are also customers and team members and I'll be posting some Facebook Live videos so be sure you are following me on Facebook…just click the social media button below to go right to my site and like me!

Ha-speaking of “like me”…I may date myself here but who else remembers when Sally Field won an Academy Award and in her acceptance speech said “And I can't deny right now in this moment that you like me…”

That has stuck with me for years! It's so fun to be able to go back to watch memorable (and maybe some less than memorable) moments on You Tube.

You might enjoy some of my tutorials on You Tube, like this one where my “Stamp Slave Dave” shows you how to fix your punches:

Thanks for popping in today and I hope you are so excited about my new, updated website, too!

CREATE and call it a Job…FAQ about joining Stampin’ Up!

CREATE and call it a Job…FAQ about joining Stampin' Up!

Each month at my events I receive bunches of questions about joining Stampin' Up! Today I thought I'd go through some of them and give you the answers! Now is the perfect time to join this fabulous company; our annual catalog comes out in June and everyone wants our new products!

Q: What kind of incentives can I earn as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator? A: Stampin’ Up! offers so many benefits and incentives to demonstrators… here are a just few:

  • 20%-25% Off all orders as long as you are active. *
  • Company paid incentive trips! I've almost qualified for the 2018 trip – a cruise to Alaska!!!
  • Access to the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website – loaded with ideas, video trainings, webinars, techniques, tutorials and more.
  • Access to Stampin' Connection.com – Stampin’ Up’s exclusive online community for demonstrators only.
  • Make $$ beyond the 20-25% – You can earn up to 40% commission on personal purchases & customer sales.
  • Flex Points – Works like your Credit Card Reward Points; you can choose FREE items (SU merchandise, gift cards, and more) depending upon your sales.
  • A complimentary catalog every time there is a new one released!
  • Pre-orders & Sneak Peeks new sets before they’re available to anyone else

* Effective October 1st, 2015 Demonstrators who’ve reached Bronze status will receive 25% OFF (or earn 25%) on ALL orders

Check out this short video about our current pre-order and “sneak peek”!

Q: Can I be my own Hostess (receive Stampin’ Rewards)?  A: Absolutely! Anytime you have an order over $150, you can be your own Hostess. It can be all yours, a combination of your own personal purchases plus outside orders, or it could be all from customers. (i.e. a Mystery Hostess Party, Open House, etc.)

Q: What are the minimum sales requirements? A: You only have to submit $300 in retail sales ($225-$240 net to your demonstrator discount) per quarter to remain active. You can drop anytime.

  • If you ever don't submit $300 in a quarter, you are not penalized (you do lose your discount and other “demo only” perks).  You would simply go inactive, and become a customer again.

Q: Can I join with you even though I don't live near you? A: You sure can! In fact, I have demos all over the country and they are all a part of my fabulous team…GIRLS, INK!

I hope I have answered some of your FAQ about joining Stampin' Up! I absolutely LOVE what I do and would be so happy to chat with you to see if Stampin' Up! might be just what you are looking for so you, too can…CREATE and call it a Job! If you have other questions or would just like more info, please give me a shout.
