Mini Crates Taking Over – Stampin’ Up! Framelits

Die Cut/ Projects/ Stamping

STAMP FLASH: Mini crates taking over; my stamp room today, that is.  The Wood Crate Framelit, new to our 2017-2018 catalog, has quickly become one of my favorite dies. Since it's been raining here all day, I've been able to stay in my jammies and create bunches of these fun little crates. I used the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper for these:

You can use any paper or colors to create the perfect party favor or gift. Here are some of the ones I created using the June Paper Pumpkin Kit for an upcoming team party to celebrate our best sales month ever:

These little crates are so easy to put together. You'll need to cut out 2 of the crate pieces. For the ones where I used Designer Series Paper, I cut my 12″ paper into 4″ strips and cut two crate pieces out of each strip. You'll get three crates out of a full sheet of 12″ x 12″ paper.

Of course, with Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper (DSP), you can choose either side to use for your crate! You can also use solid cardstock as I did with the watermelon crates above.

It's quite easy to put your crate together. You start as shown in the picture on left, then layer one crate piece over the other, as shown on the right with the blue crate. Since the DSP is fairly thin, regular SNAIL Adhesive works just fine to assemble. If you use our regular, solid colored cardstock, Tear & Tape Adhesive is a better alternative for assembling.

Tip: it's easiest to cut a bunch of crate pieces out all at once and then you can assemble later.

To order the Wood Crate Framelits or Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, just click on a picture below.

I hope you, too, will soon be gleefully shouting in your stamp/craft room…mini crates are taking over! 🙂

Speaking of cards, I'm expecting some fun postcards from Thailand in my mailbox soon! Several of my demonstrator friends are either there or enroute for the annual Incentive Trip. I qualified for this trip but due to the extremely long flight and my hubby's back issues, we had to pass on this one. I know everyone will have a fabulous time. Stampin' Up! always spoils on these trips!

Stamp Slave Dave and I have already qualified for the 2018 trip to Alaska; we can't wait to cruise the Inside Passage and see the sights above! We went on the 2011 trip to Alaska and that has been the one we've enjoyed most out of all the trips we've been blessed to achieve.

Incentive trips, lifetime friendships, product pre-orders, income, free stamps, creative conferences…do any of these make your ears perk up? If so, you might find this is the perfect time to start your own Stampin' Up! business and get this new Carols of Christmas stamp set for free!

That's right, for only $99 plus tax (and you pay zip, zero, nada for shipping!) you get to choose $125 of any products in our catalog. During the month of July,  you also receive the following stamping essentials kit:

118485D Block – you get 2 of these, one to keep and one to share with a friend!
130148Grid Paper
103579Paper Snips
104332SNAIL Adhesive
102300Bone Folder

I honestly don't know of another business opportunity where only $99 gets you started. Just like Santa on Christmas Eve, this promotion will disappear on August 1st so don't miss it! If you have any questions, please do give me a shout.

p.s. if you enjoyed this marbled Hello Friend project, here are two more samples using the new In Color collection.

Colorful Seasons

Big Shot/ Die Cut/ Stamping

One of the things I miss most about living in Connecticut is the colorful seasons. We lived in a wooded area so the trees took on a different look with the changing of the season.

Stampin' Up!'s “Colorful Seasons” stamp set is the perfect choice, no matter what the time of year or season. Today's sample uses different shades of yellow and I hope reminds you of a recent trip to a sunny beach!

Notice the yellow gradations on the left side of this card. Using Stampin' Up!'s new Color Theory Designer Series Paper, you can easily add different splashes of color to your projects with one slice of your paper trimmer!  Each 6″ x 6″ double-sided sheet is acid and lignin free. Stampin' Up! colors featured are Berry Burst, Crushed Curry, Dapper Denim, Old Olive, Whisper White. Mix and match for endless possibilities.

One of my favorite things about this stamp set is the font used for the greeting images:

Lest you think there would be a lot of “fussy cutting” for all these images, not to worry! There is a coordinating set of thinlits dies:

I've included the measurements and instructions below in case you want to create a stack of cards for yourself. When you need one you can just go to your stash instead of heading out to the store! 🙂

  • Misc. – Color Theory Designer Series Paper (145348); Delicate White Doilies (141701)

Measurements:

  • Crumb Cake: 8 ½” x 5 ½”
  • Basic Black: 2 7/8” x 3 3/8”
  • Whisper white: 2 ¾” x 3 ¼”
  • Color Theory DSP: 5 ½” x 2”

  2. Stamp the frame of the chair in Crumb Cake
  3. Stamp the seat of the chair in Crushed Curry
  4. Stamp greeting in Basic Black
