Yesterday I promised you a peek behind the curtain at my recent retreat to Alford Inn. Some of the ladies were a little camera shy, but here are a few of the girls.
Charlotte was working on some gorgeous backgrounds made with Stampin' Up! re-inkers.; did you know that these re-inkers aren't just for inking up your stamp pads when they've gone dry? Let me share some of her talent with you!
She used a watercolor brush to wet Watercolor Paper and then dropped a few drops from three re-inker bottles onto the paper (you want the paper to be quite wet so the ink will spread). She then took her brush and moved the color all over the paper to create her desired background. An Aqua Painter tool works well for this technique, too! You don't want to use more than 2-3 colors or your result will be muddy and not at all pleasing.
Charlotte put some glimmer paint into a spritzer bottle and filled with alcohol and then spritzed over the paper to give a shimmery effect. The butterfly image you see is from a template made with the Butterfly Thinlits Dies.
Hope you enjoyed learning about this fun technique; email me with any questions and I'll be glad to help!
