Where Have YOU found Glitter?

Contests/ Mojo Monday

Hey stampers! It's such a warm, sunny day here in north Texas and we are LOVING the change! It was cold and rainy last week so having a bright, yellow orb in the sky sure lifts our spirits. Even my first graders at church seemed to be in happier moods!

I have a question for you today…where have you found Where Have YOU Found Glitter??

OK, I don't mean in a “normal” place, but in or on what unusual place have you found glitter? I'd love you to leave a comment on the bottom of today's post.

I posed this question to my newsletter subscribers and gave them an opportunity to win a signed copy of Laura Child‘s new scrapbooking mystery, Glitter Bomb. The results were simply hilarious and I wanted to share some of the funnier ones with you today.

  • Inside my pantyhose- around the thigh area ..I was a chaperone at a high school dance.
  • Once found glitter on the bathroom floor of a craft store. (It was hanging out with the Easter grass!)
  • When we were cleaning out my Mom's house, I found all kinds of glitter spread in the drawer of her glitter. When I asked her about it, she indicated that she had spilled a small packet of it years prior and just left it there so when she picked something out of the drawer, she would be reminded of that time.
  • On the dog's nose.
  • The strangest place I have found glitter was in my contact lens case and I was nowhere near glitter. Mystery.
  • My strangest place would have to be on my tongue. Lol And no I don’t eat glitter, haha but probably ate something and not realizing I had glitter on my fingers.
  • My center desk drawer at work!!!!
  • I found glitter once between my baby sons toes.
  • I would say the strangest place I’ve found glitter would be on my cat’s tail!
  • I found glitter in the church pew .
  • Unfortunately on the end of my nose. This was after cashiering all day!
  • The strangest place that I have found glitter was between my toes. I had spilled it on the floor and apparently I did not get it all.
  • The strangest place I have found glitter was in a book that I’m reading.
  • The strangest place I have found glitter was in my bra.
  • I have found glitter every place in my house, on my husband that will not go in my craft room, and my \ beagle.
  • As a retired kindergarten teacher I would find glitter everywhere and for some time. My custodian was never happy with me.
  • I found glitter on my friend's face. I was working with glitter, she was not!!!
  • In my mashed potatoes!
  • My underwear! I am sure it was on my hands from crafting so long & needing to desperately take a potty break!
  • The strangest place I found glitter was on my cat's paws. She tracked it all over our house. The strange thing was we had no glitter in the house at all. Go figure.
  • The question would be, “Where Have I not found glitter?”

My personal favorite is the last one; so true don't you think?

While we're on the subject of glitter, sometimes a strip and some tiny pieces is just what you need to give a little “wow” to your card!

Glitter Bomb – Scrapbooking in New Orleans

Contests/ People/ Scrapbook

Hello Stampers from wet and rainy Texas! My goodness I love the rain as much as anyone but…I think we've had enough for awhile! The ground needs to get a bit of a chance to dry out. I'm going on a stamping and scrapbooking retreat and it would be really nice to have a little sun, especially as we are all unloading our “stuff”! 🙂

Speaking of scrapbooking, have you been introduced to the New Orleans Scrapbooking mystery series by Laura Childs? If not, I highly recommend these books! Her latest one, Glitter Bomb, continues the adventures of Carmela Bertrand, scrapbook store owner and amateur sleuth.

Glitter Bomb - Scrapbooking in New Orleans

Glitter is a staple in my crafting vortex and, as a matter of fact, my home always has a trail of it leading out of my craft room. Yours, too? 🙂

Be sure you are on my mailing list (you can subscribe above) by next Tuesday. I'll be announcing a contest that you won't want to miss! HINT: it involves GLITTER!!

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day…Think GREEN!

Announcements/ Contests/ Stamping/ Uncategorized

Hey Stampers! Before I head out to a Stampin' Up! party with one of my new team members and her peeps, I wanted to wish you all a Happy Saint Patrick's Day! You know, this is the “day of green” so I thought we should think about Stampin' Up! “greenery” and have a little fun!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day...Think GREEN!

Over the years, we have had quite a few different shades of green in our color collections. What's your favorite Stampin' Up!”Green” – current or past? Mine are Lucky Limeade and Wild Wasabi. Post your answer in the comments section and let's see how many different greens we can name!

Also, did you see the Limerick contest I posted the other day? If not, you can read about it here, and I hope you'll play along. Winner of the contest (NO PURCHASE NECESSARY), will get fifteen handstamped cards with envelopes!

The Stamp Maven St. Patrick’s Day Limerick Contest

Contests/ Holidays / Special Days

Hello Stampers! Happy Friday Eve! 🙂 I want to tell you about The Stamp Maven (that's me!) St. Patrick's Day Limerick Contest. I did this as part of a coaching group I'm in and I thought it would be fun to do here on my blog.

The Stamp Maven St. Patrick's Day Limerick Contest

I want to give away  FIFTEEN handstamped cards with envelopes. These are not any ordinary cards. They are beautiful works of art stamped by leaders in Stampin' Up! A group of us do swaps whenever a new catalog unveils and I always have a giant stack that I can't bear to send out…lol. Anyone else keep many of the cards you stamp instead of mailing/giving to family and friends?

All you have to do to have a chance at winning these cards (no purchase necessary!) is to come up with a limerick (stamping-related) and either post here as a comment or leave a comment on my Facebook site on the post you see about this contest. Here is one I wrote so you can get an idea if you've never written a limerick!

There once was a fair stampin' lass
Who needed fresh faces for her class
She got out the phone and dialed and dialed
Her class registrations have simply gone wild.

That's it…pretty simple. It can be longer than this, whatever you like.

Contest ends at midnight on March 17, 2018 (St. Patrick's Day).  Dave, one of my customers (she's not participating),  and I will pick the winner. Our judging is final and, in case of a tie, winners will each get eight cards.

Email me with any questions. HAVE FUN! We can't wait to see what you come up with!!
