Announcements/ Mojo Monday/ Online Stamp Club

Eastern Palace Sneak Peek – Order It May 1!

Today’s card is a sneak peek of the Eastern Palace product suite from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog which goes “live” on June 1.

This suite of products is so elegant yet versatile! My card features two of the new 2017-2019 In Color Collection: Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig. Notice the gold circles? They look embossed don't they? Guess What! They are…stickers! I've already used almost all the ones I ordered in my demo pre-order.

Speaking of pre-order, Stampin' Up! is offering YOU the opportunity to pre-order products from this suite starting on May 1! There will be two bundles, a “starter” bundle which would be great for a beginning crafter and the “premier bundle” which is perfect for a more experienced crafter OR a beginner who'd like to jump in with both feet!

Both of the bundles will be loaded with products; here is a flyer that will show you everything that comes in both bundles!

In case you don't know, I offer an online stamp club each month and May's club will feature cards from these bundles. I've been doing my online club for a couple of years now and this online club option gives out of town customers a way to stamp with me and get two free card kits full of consumable products each month! If you'd like to get in on the fun starting in May, just click here and put your name and email in the big coral circle at the top…you'll also get a cool free gift and a series of short video tutorials just for subscribing to my newsletter.

Don't forget to set a calendar reminder so you'll be ready to order your Eastern Palace bundles at my online store on May 1.

I hope you enjoyed my Eastern Palace Sneak Peek. Have a great week and I'll see you soon!

Spring Inspiration from Oh So Succulent

Announcements/ Classes / Events/ Die Cut/ Online Stamp Club/ Online Stamp Clubs

Hey stampers! JUST when I thought spring was here and started playing around with all my fun flower stamp sets and dies…cold and rain came back today. Oh well, I'm still in a spring mood so my clubs, both my local and online clubs will be doing “spring” focused projects.

My in person clubs will be making these tags for their block sets. We started these back in the fall when my Girls, INK tam had our annual Pampered Stamper events and our guests made 2 sets, Fall and Christmas. I continued on with a set for Valentines Day, done at my January clubs.

The blocks themselves are made from 2 x 4's cut into 5 1/2″ pieces, sanded, then spray painted black. You could even use chalk paint and then no sanding is necessary! The tag bases are all 4 7/8″ x 3″. You can use solid colors or Designer Series paper and then embellish as desired. The letters are all cut using the Large Letters Framelits (141712).

Now they aren't cheap mind you ($99.00) but once you have the set you'll be able to cut letters for cards, banners, home decor…anything!

Here are the cards for my online clubs:

Did you know you can be a part of my monthly online clubs no matter where in the U.S. you might live? Here's how it works:

Each month I set up a hostess code and publicize it in my monthly newsletter and here on the blog. If you don't get my newsletter, you might want to subscribe-just put your info into the big, coral circle above. I share different ideas and projects on my various social media sites so be sure you follow me on all of them so you don't miss anything!

This month's hostess code is: HVVV9R37. Place any order of at least $35 at my online store and you'll be in the club. You'll receive a PDF Tutorial with detailed measurements, supply list and instructions for each card. Later in the month (I usually mail out the kits around the 25th of each month), you'll receive a kit for each card in the mail, complete with all the cardstock, die-cut pieces, embellishments and envelopes. You can purchase the stamp sets and dies to create the cards exactly like mine, or use any stamps you like. This month's cards use the following stamp sets, dies and paper:

Oh So Succulent Photopolymer Bundle (145184-$48.50)
Timeless Textures Stamp Set (w-140514-$23.00, c-140517-$17.00)

Lovin’ My Watercolor Pencils!

Online Stamp Club/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques/ Tuesday Tips

Well hello stampers! Today's post is all about Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Pencils…I love them! My clubs and classes this month have featured cards with fun techniques using this great new product. I'm going to share my favorites with you today!

Our watercolor pencils (in a selection of our fabulous Stampin' Up! colors) can be used with both Blender Pens and Aqua Painters depending upon personal preference. My favorite paper to use is the Shimmery White Cardstock, but, of course, watercolor paper works well, too. Watercoloring takes a little time to “master” but the results are worth it! Here are some tips that I think will really help you and maybe give you some new ideas for using your pencils as well.

You will want to use Archival Black, Grey, or Staz-On Inks for watercoloring. This will prevent your image from bleeding. If you are going to emboss your image, any colored ink may be used.

When using watercolor pencils start with lighter colors first and add the darker shades. Try mixing colors and blend for interesting shades. It is more effective to apply several light coats of pencil shadings, adding more until the desired shade is reached, rather than one very heavy application. Try putting a dark line of color on one side of your stamped image and then “pulling” the color towards the center with your Blender Pen or Aqua Painter.

When using your Aqua Painter, a brush that is barely wet gives much brighter color. Adding more water will blend the colors more and “soften” the look. You don't want to saturate your image, as that will cause your paper to buckle.

Using a Blender Pen eliminates the need for water altogether. The blending solution is in the pen itself.

  • Use with a palette: rub a pencil tip on a piece of paper, building up pigment. Use a damp brush or blender pen to pick up pigment and then color your image. This is a great way to mix colors.
  • For bright bold colors, take the pigment directly from your pencil tip. Dip your brush in water and press to the tip of the pencil. This will give you undiluted pigment for strong colors. You can also use the Blender Pen directly on the pencil tip
  • A thick opaque look can be achieved by dipping the pencil tip in water and applying the color wet.
  • You can also use the pencil to color directly on your stamped image.
