Chalk Lines Technique

This fun technique is one I featured at my September Class. The next Technique Class will be on October 27 and I'll have 6 new rubber stamping and scrapbooking techniques to teach. Check out all the details and sign up…we'd love to have you join in the fun!

For this technique, you need 3 different colors of Stampin' Up! Pastels, the eraser that comes with the Pastels, and your Paper Trimmer. Take a piece of Whisper White Card Stock, sized to fit your card. Using sponge daubers, place your three colors of chalk in random places on the card stock, covering almost all of it, leaving a little bit of white peeking through. Then, remove all the blades from your trimmer and place the chalked piece of card stock in your cutter, on the diagonal, about in the center of the piece. Take the eraser and run it down the track of the cutter, which will remove chalk in that area. Move the piece of card stock to the left, lining the edge of the track up against one end of the line you just made. Continue in this manner to the end of the piece. Then, flip the piece around and continue out to the other end. Then, turn your piece so that the opposite end is in the timmer and repeat the same steps.

This will make the coolest diamond shape design and is great as a background for your card. Finish as desired. Don't be afraid to try new color combos. I'd love to see the cards you create…send me a picture!

Happy stamping!
