Hey Stampers! Are you as excited as I am that the Stampin' Up! Color Revamp 2018 is Almost Here?! It's true! Stampin' Up! is updating their color collections as well as adding five NEW In Colors starting June 1st. AND…that's not all. There is a new stamp pad design that makes our great ink pad even better! I've had a chance to use the new ink pads and colors and here's everything you need to know.
There are still four color collections, ten colors in each. A new group called “Basics” has been added, made up of Whisper White, Very Vanilla, and Basic Black.
This allowed for the addition of three new colors into the “core” collections. Here's a quick breakdown of all the colors, starting with the new 2018-2019 In Colors and the returning 2017-2019 In Colors.
I love the bold, bright colors in the 2018-2019 In Color collection. If you've been around Stampin' Up! for awhile, a few of these new ones might be reminiscent of some colors retired long ago: Glorious Green and Brilliant Blue. While they look similar, the new colors are totally different. I'm so glad that SU realized we needed some bold, bright colors added back into our color palettes!
Next, here are all the “new” colors.
My personal favorites are Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. I'm definitely a “purple” girl!
Last, but certainly NOT least, here is each 10 color collection:
You might notice that some of our current colors have “jumped ship” from one collection to another and you might also see some old favorites (YES…that IS Blackberry Bliss you see!) have returned. I've included a chart below that gives you a revamp summary from our OnStage event last month. I think you'll find this a helpful bit of information!
Don't miss your chance to grab a re-inker or cardstock in one of your favorite colors that are retiring to make room for the new colors shown above!
Now, a bit about the new ink pad design.
Why the change to the case?
The case’s manufacturing mold was about to expire. We can only use a mold a limited number of times before we need to replace it, so we had to decide if we wanted to order more of the same molds or try to improve the design. We chose to improve it! We also wanted to align the updated case with the color revamp and improvements to our ink. In addition, we chose to time these changes with Stampin’ Up!’s rebranding and packaging updates. This way, you only need to invest in the new colors and ink pads at one time. (For example, if we revamped the colors last year and then changed the cases and improved the ink this year, you’d likely be purchasing twice to stay current.) We wanted to make these updates and changes in the most cost efficient way for you.
What's better about the case?
- Less confusing to open
- Tighter fit between the lid and the base
- Stackable
- Improved stickers and labels.
How is the ink different?
- Reduce ink bubbles
- Help you get an even coating of ink on the stamp.
- Help the stamped image have a smoother, solid look
Since we were improving the case we decided to make improvements to the ink as well! We added a defoamer to the ink ingredients because we noticed that our old ink would sometimes bubble (especially on new pads and with lighter colors). When this happened, the ink wasn’t as even and smooth when stamped as we’d like to see it.
Tomorrow I'll have some projects featuring some of the new colors and some free color tools you can download!
