Create a Handmade Wedding Invitation

My guest blogger today comes to you all the way from Woodbine, MD…Pat Miller is her name, Pat's Creative Stampin' Cave is where she hangs out! Pat is one of many talented Stampin' Up! demonstrators who I have the pleasure of having on my team.  I asked her if she would be my first team blogger and she graciously agreed.

Pat's project is a wedding box/invitation:

Pat was commissioned by some friends to make a handmade wedding invitation; needless to say, they were thrilled with the results. I asked Pat to share the creative “journey” in her own words:

“I asked the bride for her theme and colors. I showed her Rich Razzleberry for the Aubergine and gave her Lost Lagoon and Marina Mist as options for the Teal. She chose Lost Lagoon. Her theme was nautical, but that's all she said. I immediately thought about a compass to “stay the course”, an anchor to hold them together, and a ship needs rope to tie up at the dock. The charms were my idea, as was the overall design.

I showed her the three color combos and she chose the white background. I showed her the rest of the design and she loved it. Her only request was to have anchors stamped on the front of the card.

The unveiling day arrived, we met for lunch; the groom even joined in! The bride got misty-eyed and was so pleased with her invitations and the boxes I made for transport. She will use one of the boxes at the reception to hold gift cards.

Both the bride and groom have thanked me over and over and raved about the invites on Facebook.”

I'd say Pat was quite successful for her first “professional” sale…wouldn't you?
