While I know that it sometimes seems as if I own every product that Stampin' Up! sells, I truly don't! I am on a budget just like most of you are so I am always looking for "frugality-based" scrapbooking techniques or cardmaking ideas I can share.
When you have leftover pieces of patterned paper (Designer Series Paper for my SU friends) save them! You can turn those pieces into a great card or use them to make a photo mat and/or journaling box for your page layouts. Here's how. For a regular sized card you will need a 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"card base that coordinates with your patterned paper pieces. You will also need five 1 1/2" x 5" pieces of patterned paper (all different) that you will attach to the front of the card. Of course, you can add ribbon, buttons or any embellishments you would like.
In my card I used International Bazaar Designer Series Paper sold by Stampin' Up!. I love the bold colors and I can use several different coordinating solid card stock card bases. This card uses Daffodil Delight 8 1/2" x 11" Card Stock.
