Helping Haiti

Many Stampin’Up! demonstrators have been asking the company how they might get involved in supporting the relief efforts in the Haiti earthquake disaster.  Today, Stampin’Up! came out on the web site with a great offer that could generate thousands of dollars to help.

From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts
stamp set will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti
Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established
in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and
long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other
support to help those in need.

I {Heart} Hearts – clear-mount  (block D recommended)118571   $18.95
I {Heart} Hearts – wood-mount 117010   $26.95

Anne asked me to do the post today as I am working on getting myself to Haiti to volunteer.  It is a project of great interest to me.  My early background was as a surgical nurse and a paramedic so I’m planning to work with one of the medical teams there. The plan is to be there for about a month and then evaluate if we are
still needed.  I am currently raising support, but will be leaving as soon as possible either way.

I hope to be able to set up a blog if there is any internet access.  If I’m able to, Anne will let you know where it is so that you can see what we are up to and what I run across.
