Cruising, Crafting and Creativity

Announcements/ Join My Team

Hello stampers! The “creeping crud” hit my world with a vengeance and I'm just now slowly feeling human again. Went to the doctor and he said this cough is taking 4-6 weeks to clear up. Now, if I could just hole up and be crafty for that time I'd be hunky dory. Alas, work still calls my nane…lol.

Prior to getting sick I was able to go on a crafting cruise with some of my buds. We enjoyed it so much, one of my downline and I are thinking of planning one ourselves. We had 4 classes on board, with most everything provided by the instructors. We did have to bring scissors and glue, but that was easy peasy.

Here are a few pages from my favorite project, a scrapbook in a box, cruise themed of course.

Cruising, Crafting and CreativityCruising, Crafting and CreativityCruising, Crafting and Creativity

We constructed a platform first and then made this hinged book to go inside. I'm thrilled with the way it turned out. I'm actually going to use this to make a memory album when my husband I and go on the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Alaska this July. That trip is also a cruise, through the Inside Passage. We were fortunate to earn this trip in 2011 and it is our favorite cruise yet.

Incentive trips are only part of the “perks” to my “job” as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. When I joined this fabulous company 15 years ago I had no idea these trips would ever be a possibility.

Do you like to craft? Do you spend a fortune at the Big Box stores? Do you like to spend time with other fun peeps sharing your love of stamping and crafting? If so, now might just be the best time to give the Stampin' Up! business opportunity a closer look.

As you may know, during the months of January, February and March it is Sale-a-Bration time at Stampin' Up!. Not only can you earn a free stamp set and or other products for each $50 you spend, you can acutally get some pretty great benefits by purchasing the starter kit.

For just $99 plus tax, NO SHIPPING (1st benefit!), you can choose $125 in any products out of the Annual or Occasions catalog…that's $26 extra in free products. Maybe you need some extra SNAIL Adhesive or there's a new stamp set still on your wish list. BUT, there's still more. During Sale-a-Bration you can also choose two free stamp sets of ANY value. If it were me, I'd choose the two most expensive on my list.

In addition to all these great benefits, you get to be a part of my AAA-MAAAA-ZING team, Girls INK. We are a crazy group from all over the country and we have one thing in common…we love to stamp. A few of us have chosen the career plan to make some extra money in addition to saving money. Your choice, turn it into a business or just save money on stuff you buy anyway.

Questions? Email me or give me a call at 214-293-4461 and we'll chat. Ready to join? Click here and just follow the steps.

Confetti Celebration Simple Birthday Card

Big Shot/ Die Cut/ Join My Team/ Mojo Monday

Hey stampers! Its seems like most of the cards I've been creating lately are for birthdays. Today's sample, Confetti Celebration Simple Birthday Card, is easy to put together and Stampin' Up!'s Large Letters make personalization a breeze! I love our Lemon Lime Twist In Color, especially with this Night of Navy Background.

Did you know that you can get these for free along with a ton of other stuff. How?

The CRAZY INSANE sign up special that runs only through July 31. Sign up for $99 and you get $125.00 worth of merchandise, at LEAST $100 worth of business supplies (if you want to try it out – includes eight brand new catalogs!), an Essentials Kit with five terrific tools valued at $52 and a sneak peek stamp set from the Holiday Catalog – worth $20. It costs you more NOT to get this deal than it does to get it! 🙂

If you do grab up this offer, you will be an official demonstrator on August 1 which means…………wait for it………….…………you get to preorder available products from the Holiday Catalog ON August 1 right along with all the other demos!

Yes, I have had a lot of people sign up – the deal is just too TIGGERIFFIC to pass up . In case you are wondering, NO, you do NOT have to start a business if you don’t want to.  Many people sign up  “just for the discount”  (did I mention that you get 20% off everything in the catalog as long as you are a demo?)  but decide later to actually run a business..  I was actually one of those “kit-nappers” but now I am a proud Stampin' Up! business owner and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Grab this deal before it goes away at midnight tonight!

Coffee Café Bundle ala Pool Party

Announcements/ Big Shot/ Join My Team/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques/ Videos

Hey stampers! We are making changes to the blog and have run into a couple of snags. Didn't get to post yesterday but enjoy today's Coffee Café Bundle ala Pool Party sample! One of my favorite color combos is brown and blue. Stampin' Up! has several of these tones from which to choose, but Pool Party and Early Espresso are still two of my favorites!

This is a simple card, but the coordinating Designer Series Paper and Ribbon certainly add the “pretty” factor!

Watch short video that shows you some fun tips and tricks for using this bundle!

Below I've included instructions, including cutting dimensions, for today's project. You can order any of the products used for this project by clicking a picture below.

Supplies:

  • Stamp Sets: Coffee Cafe (143677)
  • Inks: Early Espresso (126974), Crumb Cake (126975) & Pool, Party (126982) Classic Stampin’ Pads
  • Paper: Crumb Cake (120953), Early Espresso (119686) & Whisper White (100730) Card stock; Coffee Break Designer Series Paper (144155)
  • Accessories: 5/8” Burlap Ribbon (141487), Soft Sky 3/8” Classic Weave Ribbon (144160)
  • Other: SNAIL Adhesive (104332) OR Fast Fuse Adhesive (129026), Big Shot (143263), Coffee Cups Framelits (143745), Stitched Shapes Framelits (145372), Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122234), Stampin’ Trimmer (126889), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

Measurements:

  • Crumb Cake: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored and folded at 4-1/4”
  • Coffee Break DSP: 5-1/4” x 4” (make sure that you cut it so that the chevron pattern runs down the front of the card)
  • Early Espresso: 3-1/2” x 3-1/2”
  • Whisper White: 2 x 5-1/4” x 4” (one for the inside of the card, and the second for stamping/die cutting)
  • Burlap and Soft Sky Ribbons: 5” for each piece

Instructions:

    1. Using the Pool Party ink, stamp the wood grain cup image on Whisper White cardstock. Leaving space between the images, stamp the cup lid on the same piece of cardstock, using Crumb Cake ink. Stamp the frame image using Crumb Cake ink, and the sentiment inside of the stamped frame using Early Espresso ink.
    2. Using your Big Shot and the Coffee Cups Framelits, die cut the cup, lid and wrapper. Using the largest circle in the Stitched Shapes Framelits, die cut a circle from the Early Espresso card stock.
    3. Glue the wrapper to the cup, and the lid to the cup using SNAIL or Fast Fuse adhesive.
    4. Wrap the Soft Sky ribbon around the Coffee Break DSP, about 1” above the bottom of the paper, and glue on the back. Wrap the Burlap ribbon overtop, leaving about 2/3” of the Soft Sky showing on the bottom, adhering them on the back. *Note* Fast Fuse is a good adhesive for this so that you’re sure that they don’t come off.
    5. Using your Paper Trimmer, cut about 1/2” off of one side of the Early Espresso circle. Adhere the circle to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere the stamped coffee cup to the Early Espresso circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    6. Stamp the coffee bean image 3 times in the bottom right corner of the other piece of Whisper White cardstock. Glue to the inside of the card.

For every $50 you spend July 1-31 (before tax and shipping) you'll get a $5 Bonus Days Coupon that you can use during August! Shop now.

Join the Stampin' Up! Family and my Girls, INK team In July and you'll get all the following freebies with your starter kit:

Speaking of cards, I'm expecting some fun postcards from Thailand in my mailbox soon! Several of my demonstrator friends are either there or enroute for the annual Incentive Trip. I qualified for this trip but due to the extremely long flight and my hubby's back issues, we had to pass on this one. I know everyone will have a fabulous time. Stampin' Up! always spoils on these trips!

Stamp Slave Dave and I have already qualified for the 2018 trip to Alaska; we can't wait to cruise the Inside Passage and see the sights above! We went on the 2011 trip to Alaska and that has been the one we've enjoyed most out of all the trips we've been blessed to achieve.

Incentive trips, lifetime friendships, product pre-orders, income, free stamps, creative conferences…do any of these make your ears perk up? If so, you might find this is the perfect time to start your own Stampin' Up! business and get this new Carols of Christmas stamp set for free!

That's right, for only $99 plus tax (and you pay zip, zero, nada for shipping!) you get to choose $125 of any products in our catalog. During the month of July,  you also receive the following stamping essentials kit:

118485D Block – you get 2 of these, one to keep and one to share with a friend!
130148Grid Paper
103579Paper Snips

102300Bone Folder

I honestly don't know of another business opportunity where only $99 gets you started. Just like Santa on Christmas Eve, this promotion will disappear on August 1st so don't miss it! If you have any questions, please do give me a shout.

p.s. if you enjoyed this marbled Hello Friend project, here are two more samples using the new In Color collection.

Christmas is Coming in July!

Announcements/ Holidays / Special Days/ Join My Team/ Paper crafting

Christmas is coming in July and I want you to get the gift!

I'd like to ask a favor. Please read this post all the way to the end and watch the short video. If you see something that might fit for you, let's chat!

Have you ever asked yourself if the Stampin' Up! Opportunity is right for YOU? If you've been involved in papercrafting you have most likely been to a Stampin' Up! party or class and maybe have even been asked if you'd like to become a demonstrator. I'll bet you have no clue what a “demonstrator” does.

We have an awesome promotion starting on July 1 and I would hate for you to miss it if the Stampin' Up! Opportunity IS right for you. The paper Snips and SNAIL Adhesive are only two of the “Christmas in July” gifts that come with the Starter Kit during the month of July.

The Starter Kit already includes:

  • $125 of any catalog product for $99 plus tax
  • FREE shipping
  • $65 in business supplies

From July 1 – 31 Santa Claus will also be bringing a FREE Essentials Gift Pack including Paper Snips, SNAIL Adhesive, Grid Paper, two D Blocks (one for you and one for a stamping friend!), and a Bone Folder. That’s an added value of $52. The Carols of Christmas Stamp Set from the holiday catalog will also be included ($20 value).

I've been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 15 years, the last ten of which I have been a “career” demonstrator. What's that you might ask?

As a career-minded demonstrator, I am in this to MAKE MONEY, not just SPEND MONEY. When I first joined Stampin' Up!, it was purely to get the discount. There is nothing wrong with that; I have lots of “hobby” demonstrators on my team. But the truth is, if this is your hobby I would bet more money is going out the door than is coming in. Again, if this works for your situation that's great. That is exactly what I did for the first few years. After awhile though I found myself wondering if I could really make money with this. I saw other demonstrators making money, having fun with their customers and teams, setting their own hours, going on great trips, and so much more. If they could do this, why couldn't I?

I started asking questions and getting more information. Within a short time, I was actually MAKING money! My husband started paying attention and when I earned our first incentive trip, he was sold! He has actually been my business partner now for years and is a big part of my successful stamping business.

I absolutely LOVE what I do and today I'd like to share a little bit about my team, Girls, INK,  and see how we might be a fit for you and your needs.

Now…one last thing…watch this short video about one of our awesome Stampin' Up! events.

OK, I've just got one question. If you love to have all the latest in papercrafting supplies, would like to make extra money, meet new friends, , and set your own hours, don't you think it would be worth an investment of $99?

Let's chat soon so you can celebrate Christmas in July!

I am loving the new Dragonfly Dreams Bundle that is coming in the new Occasions Catalog on January 4! Demonstrators could pre-order from this catalog in December so we've had chillin' time to play during the holidays!

Not yet a Demo? Hmmm…maybe you'd like to see a little more of what could await you on January 4, 2017 (that's the start of our annual Sale-A-Bration promotion and you can earn so much during this time-through the end of March)

By choosing to join the Girls, INK team, you are in for something more than stamps, paper, and ink.  Yes, you can get up to a 25% discount on all that, but…..the opportunity to meet the most amazing people and form lasting friendships is what it's really all about! Some of my best friends have been formed during my Stampin' Up! journey that started almost 15 years ago!

In addition, my team is part of an awesome group of demonstrators called “Creativate”, started by one of my friends and upline. This group has trainings, videos, techniques…the list goes on an on. When you join Stampin’ Up! with me….you not only get ME and the other Girls, INK'ers to help you, but you get training that is backed by 150+ years of experience…at no charge…FREE!

If you have considered joining Stampin’ Up! with the thought of “trying it out to make some money” and growing a part-time or full-time business, I would love to help you! Let's chat in person or on the phone! I have a successful business. The upline you choose is important. Make sure you sign up with someone who will meet YOUR  needs.

Can I really just join to get a discount? Absolutely! In fact, that's why I joined, no kidding! Since then (2003) I've been among the Top 100 demonstrators in the company, earned fabulous trips to places like Fiji for me and my husband, gotten LOTS of free products, and, most important of all, helped others achieve THEIR dreams!

You also might want to consider:

  •  If you plan on ordering more than $100 in the next 3 months–this is truly the absolute best value for your money and I honestly can't think of any down side.
  • Get over $150 of products for $99 (and pay ZERO shipping)
  • 20% discount on all orders
  • You will remain active and enjoy all benefits at least until the end of June!
  • You will be able to order a month early from the new annual catalog this summer!

If you've been a demonstrator before, now is a great time to join again…even if you just want the kit! You aren't committing to anything; well, maybe just fun, great products, saving money, fun, great friends, fun…well, you get the idea!
OK–you have convinced me…….HOW DO I SIGN UP???
It’s easy, peasy, done…..just click HERE

Seriously, I LOVE, LOVE what I do and I think you would, too! AND…I mean it when I say I'm here to help you. Please do shoot me an email or call me if you have any questions.

Measurements:

  • Calypso Coral- Card base: 5-1/2” x 8-½”, plus scrap, approx. 1-1/2” x 2” for balloon
  • Neutrals DSP- 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Whisper White CS- 4-1/2” x 2-1/4”, plus scrap approx. 3-1/2” x 1-1/4” for banner
  • Pool Party CS- 4” x ¾”, plus scrap approx. 1-1/2” x 2” for balloon
  • Basic Gray CS- scrap for balloon approx. 1-1/2” x 2”

Instructions:

  1. Let’s start by scoring and folding the card base on the long side at 4-1/4”.
  2. Next, stamp 2 balloons on the top portion of the white strip of cardstock. I stamped the polka dot balloon in smoky slate and the solid balloon in Calypso Coral. I used the masking technique to layer the stamped balloons.
  3. Then I stamped a balloon in pool party ink on pool party cardstock, calypso coral ink on calypso coral cardstock and basic gray ink on basic gray cardstock. Punch them out using the Balloon Bouquet Punch.
  4. I stamped the string for the balloons in smoky slate ink before I added the cardstock balloons.
  5. The pool party and basic gray balloons are added to the white cardstock with snail adhesive and the coral balloon is popped up with a dimensional.
  6. Stamp a banner using basic gray ink and the sentiment using calypso coral ink. Hand cut the banner using paper snips.
  7. Add the banner in the middle of the balloons with dimensionals.
  8. Use snail to adhere the white piece to the striped DSP paper, then adhere the pool party strip towards the bottom.
  9. Cut a piece of ribbon about 4-3/4” and add it on top of the pool party strip then wrap around the paper and adhere to the back side of the DSP.
  10. Add the striped DSP piece to the card front using snail.
  11. Lastly, tie a bow using another piece of ribbon and add that to the card using a glue dot.

  3. Assemble the Gift Box per the instructions that come with the kit. Slip on the clear sleeve.
  4. Center the Tab die from the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits onto the 1-1/2” x 2” Bermuda Bay cardstock piece and run through the Big Shot. Fold in half. Fold the extensions towards the folded center. Add Fast Fuse to the center fold. This piece will be center tab to hold the balloons.
  5. Die cut the balloons from each of the So Saffron, Calypso Coral, and Peekaboo Peach cardstock pieces.
  6. Use the Balloon Bouquet Punch to punch out three large balloons to use as the background layer to the die cut balloons.
  7. Use the strips from the die cut balloon as the ‘strings’.
  8. Cut a slit down the middle of the Lace Doilies and slip the Tab die cut up through the center. Adhere to the plastic gift box sleeve using Fast Fuse.
  9. Glue the assembled balloons to the back of the Tab.
  10. Wrap Bermuda Bay Thick Baker’s Twine around the box and through the hole created in the Tab two times. Finish with a tied bow in front of the Tab.
  11. Ink the sentiment from the Balloon Adventures stamp set with Early Espresso and stamp onto a thin strip of Whisper White cardstock. Banner cut the end; and adhere to the center balloon.

Ponchartrain Hotel: Our Home Away From Home

Join My Team

Happy Wednesday; we are sure enjoying the Ponchartrain Hotel, our “home away from home” for a few days!

frontfoyerroom

I'm so thankful for a business that's gives us so many opportunities to travel and be with other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world.

Seriously…let's just chat about this for a minute. When I joined Stampin' Up! fourteen years ago it was just to save money on my cardmaking and scrapbooking supplies. I had NO inkling that I would soon be running a business. Over these years I've been so blessed to have so many join my Girls, INK team. Some are hobbyists just wanting to save money and nothing else. Others really want the income and flexibility a business can offer.

In fact, if you have a Stampin' Up! product “wish list” of more than $99 there is no reason for you to not consider the Stampin' Up! opportunity. For $99 you will get $125 of products (you choose what you want) AND pay zero shipping…that's like getting a 10% bonus on top of $26 of free products.

I hope you'll give this some thought and give me a shout if you have any questions! You can also click here to find out a bit more!

More tomorrow via New Orleans and the Ponchartrain Hotel! 🙂
