Speaking of cards, I'm expecting some fun postcards from Thailand in my mailbox soon! Several of my demonstrator friends are either there or enroute for the annual Incentive Trip. I qualified for this trip but due to the extremely long flight and my hubby's back issues, we had to pass on this one. I know everyone will have a fabulous time. Stampin' Up! always spoils on these trips!

Stamp Slave Dave and I have already qualified for the 2018 trip to Alaska; we can't wait to cruise the Inside Passage and see the sights above! We went on the 2011 trip to Alaska and that has been the one we've enjoyed most out of all the trips we've been blessed to achieve.

Incentive trips, lifetime friendships, product pre-orders, income, free stamps, creative conferences…do any of these make your ears perk up? If so, you might find this is the perfect time to start your own Stampin' Up! business and get this new Carols of Christmas stamp set for free!

That's right, for only $99 plus tax (and you pay zip, zero, nada for shipping!) you get to choose $125 of any products in our catalog. During the month of July,  you also receive the following stamping essentials kit:

118485D Block – you get 2 of these, one to keep and one to share with a friend!
130148Grid Paper
103579Paper Snips
104332SNAIL Adhesive
102300Bone Folder

I honestly don't know of another business opportunity where only $99 gets you started. Just like Santa on Christmas Eve, this promotion will disappear on August 1st so don't miss it! If you have any questions, please do give me a shout.

p.s. if you enjoyed this marbled Hello Friend project, here are two more samples using the new In Color collection.

enamel dots

I just love these little enamel shapes and there are SO many things you can do with them; here are a few of my faves:

  • Use them in little “clusters” as you would rhinestones or pearls
  • Use as an accent on  the body part of stamped or punched butterflies
  • Add on stamped images to add texture and subtle interest
  • Use them as “bling” on stamped bows or, even as earrings

AND…the best news today…they are on sale now! Stampin' Up! will have new offers each week from now through September 21. Click below to see what else is on sale this week!

How Do I Do the Ombre Technique?

Product Information/ Samples/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

It might LOOK difficult, but if you've ever asked yourself “how do I do the ombre technique”, you've come to the right place today!

I chose this card to teach the technique because very few supplies are required and the instructions below are simple and straightforward. This card was created to support the idea that you only need a few supplies to make a beautiful card: ink pads in only three colors and one black; white card stock and one stamp set.  Framelits are used for the squares, but you could easily cut the squares with a trimmer instead.

  • Stamp Set: Sheltering Tree (137163)
  • Ink: Daffodil Delight (126944), Pumpkin Pie (126945), Melon Mambo (126948) and Memento Tuxedo Black (132708)
  • Cardstock: Whisper White (#100730)
  • Other: Squares Collection Framelits (130921), Stamping Sponges (101610), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439), Magnetic Platform (#130658), Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), and SNAIL Adhesive (104332)

  • Whisper White card base:4-1/4” x 11”, scored in half plus two scraps each about 4” x 4”

  1. Using one of the 4” x 4” scraps and a stamping sponge (works well if you cut one sponge into quarters that look like a pie slice and use 1 slice per color), begin sponging/pouncing Daffodil Delight ink horizontally so you have a section about 1” high and 4” wide. Sponge repeatedly until you get the richness you desire. Repeat with Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo working the meeting points into one another so there is no white showing through.
  2. Stamp tree with Tuxedo Black ink onto ombre piece keeping in mind its placement so you get a range of the three colors and so when it is die cut out, the tree image is positioned how you want it to appear on the card. In the sample, the tree is stamped to the left.
  3. Using the Squares Collection Framelits choose two that would nest and fit on the card as shown. Use the larger die just for the white “frame” on the 2nd Whisper White scrap and use the smaller square to carefully position it onto the ombre piece (using the Magnetic Platform) so it frames the section of the tree you want to see then die cut.
  4. Using SNAIL, attach ombre piece on top of white frame piece.
  5. Using Stamp-a-ma-jig figure out where the ombre piece will go once adhered (don’t adhere it yet) and stamp sentiment onto white card base so it is beneath where the ombre piece will go.
  6. Using Dimensionals, adhere ombre piece to card.

I hope I've answered the “how do I do the ombre technique” question for you today. PLEASE  email me if you need any help or have additional questions!

Sale-A-Bration/ Samples/ Stamping

This little guy brings a smile to my face every time I pop him into an envelope and send him off! Such a simple card; so easy to make a stack to have on hand.

One thing I've found is making 10 cards is really no more difficult than making one. Sure, you have to cut extra paper and stamp a few additional sentiments but, I really think overall I save myself time…I get out all the supplies once but have a stack of cards from which to grab when the need arises.

This stamp set is a free Sale-A-Bration set and is only available until the end of March.

Thanks for stopping by today…I hope you leave inspired to stamp some cards!

Blendabilities Flower… Times Three!

Announcements/ Product Information/ Samples/ Stamping

I have to admit, one of the things that I like best about being a Stampin' Up! Demo is being able to pre-order a few of the new products when the annual catalog is debuted. Over the past weekend, I got to spend a couple of days playing with Stampin' Up! Blendabilities, our new line of alcohol markers (thank you SO much Irene Sadik for bringing yours along). I forgot many things; very nice to have downline who willingly share!

The Stampin' Up! Blendabilities are scheduled to be available for customer purchase in August (not on June 2nd, unfortunately). I will keep you posted for sure as soon as I know a firm date!

I have never used a Copic marker before; actually, I was a bit intimidated because I have heard they are expensive and a little challenging to use. So, I wasn't sure how I would take to the Stampin' Up! Blendabilities.

I was pleasantly surprised! They were very easy to use and I liked the results. There are many sets that will work fabulously with this new tool.

Which card do you like best?

Best Day Ever Mini Album

Product Information/ Projects/ Samples/ Scrapbook

My swap group “assignment” for May is a mini album…it had to be less than 4″ x 4″, and I wanted to do something totally different from anything I've ever done.

Click for full image

For most of the pages and some embellishments, I used pieces from the “Pop-Up Posies” Designer Kit

pop up posies

currently available for only $3.99 in the Clearance Rack of my online store. I also used some of the “Epic Day” stickers,  a part of the “This and That” suite of products.

thisandthat stickers

I created pockets at the top of each page by adhering 2 of the embossed paper tags together, leaving the top area open so I could put in little tags for journaling or photos.

To see more fun projects like this one, be sure to follow me (click on social media buttons under my picture) on Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, Google+, and…coming soon – Instagram!

I'd also love to welcome you as a subscriber to my newsletter by giving you a free gift! Just fill in your information in the big, coral circle at the top of the page,  and be sure to confirm your subscription when you get the confirmation email. We do this so we never “spam” anyone!
