Copper Carols of Christmas

Paper Crafting Tool Tips

Hey stampers! Today's sample is a Copper Carols of Christmas card. Even though it is still summer here in Texas, my customers are already asking for Christmas card ideas! The “busy-ness” of the holidays seems to start earlier each year so it's never a bad idea to start thinking of ideas and purchasing supplies.

I absolutely love all our coordinating copper products and I think they add just the right amount of dazzle to this card.

I've included both Copper Trim and Copper Foil in my supply list. Copper trim is used here, but you could easily use Copper Foil if you prefer! Having choices is one of the things I love about Stampin' Up! products. We offer a wide range of colors and style to suit anyone's taste. Feel free to “case” any project I post. If you like, change it up to fit your particular style!

Every year I offer a free one on one Christmas Card consultation service to get your creative juices flowing. You and I will sit down in person for an hour and discuss ideas to come up with the perfect solution for your needs. If you don't live local to me, we can set up a phone call or skype chat. Please do give me a shout.  Together we'll design the perfect project!

Peace On Earth Night of Navy and Dazzling Diamonds Card

Uncategorized

Hey guys! Today's project is a Peace on Earth Night of Navy and Dazzling Diamonds card. I am having so much fun playing with my Carols of Christmas Bundle each night when I get home from work.  I only have 138 days until Christmas to get everything done!

While I think navy and white are just beautiful for Christmas cards, you might prefer a different color combo. That's the fun of stamping your own handmade cards!

Supplies:

  • Carols of Christmas (wood mount 144801 or clear mount 144804)
  • Stamp Pads: Night of Navy (126970)
  • Paper: Thick Whisper White (140272), Night of Navy (126970), Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (135315)
  • Misc.: Card Front Builder Dies (144674), Night of Navy 5/8” Crinkled Seam Binding (144189), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Mini Dimensionals (144108), Bone Folder (102300), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Big Shot (113439)

Measurements:

  • Thick Whisper White:                    5 ½” x 8 ½” for card base, 2 ¾” x 2 ½”, scrap for deer
  • Night of Navy:                                  3 ¼” x 3”
  • Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer:      2 ¾” x 3”, scraps to cut trees
  • Night of Navy Ribbon:                   14”

Instructions:

  1. Ink up the “Peace on Earth” stamp in Night of Navy ink and stamp it on 2 ¾” x 2 ½” piece of thick Whisper White cardstock.
  2. Ink up the deer stamp in Night of Navy and stamp it on the scrap of Thick Whisper White.
  3. Use the Card Front Builder Dies to cut out the deer.
  4. Lay the scraps of glimmer paper glimmer side down on the Big Shot platform. Cut out the set of 2 trees and the single tree. Tip: to save glimmer paper, you can cut one of the tree dies out from the 2 ¾” x 3” layering piece – the cut out tree in the center will be covered by the Peace on Earth piece.
  5. Adhere the navy paper to the card with SNAIL adhesive.
  6. Layer the 2 ¾” x 3” piece of glimmer on top of the navy. Tip: place the SNAIL adhesive on the front of the navy piece instead of the back of the glimmer paper – it adheres better to the regular paper.
  7. Place dimensionals on the back of the Peace on Earth piece and attach it to the glimmer paper.
  8. Place mini dimensionals on the back of the trees and the deer and adhere them to the card.
  9. Tie a bow with the navy ribbon and attach it to the card with a glue dot.
  10. Write a greeting inside and give this gorgeous holiday card to a special friend or make many of them and give them to all of your family and friends this Christmas season.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you've enjoyed today's Peace On Earth Night of Navy and Dazzling Diamonds card.  Tomorrow I'll be showing a masculine birthday card that uses a fun stenciling technique. There are just so many different way to use the stamp sets and die-cuts in this awesome new bundle.

Carols of Christmas Sneak Peek Inspiration Sheets

Uncategorized

I am loving the new Carols of Christmas Bundle and today I am sharing two Carols of Christmas Sneak Peek Inspiration Sheets to get your creative juices flowing. I am so excited that my customers can purchase this bundle now! Normally when Stampin' Up! releases a new seasonal catalog only demonstrators enjoy the perk of pre-ordering products. BUT, during the month of August, anyone and everyone can get this fabulous Christmas bundle which will make its appearance in our Holiday Catalog being released on September 1.

When you order this bundle now, you'll have plenty of time to finish your holiday cards before the hustle and bustle of this busy season arrives! These cards showcase totally different styles to highlight the versatility of this bundle.

The first card uses several touches of gold to provide elegance and shimmer. The second card uses a more traditional red and green color combo. I paired one of my favorite reds, Cherry Cobbler, with one of our new 2017-2019 In Colors, Tranquil Tide. This card also has touches of gold in the ribbon and gold foil acetate layer.

You can find supplies, measurements and instructions for both of these cards below.  It's so easy to order these products; just click on any picture following the card instructions.

Instructions:

  1. Use your Vanilla Mat to use the frame builder part to make the edges around your card. Make sure to line up at the top so it’s square but as close as you can so they both fit.  Turn and do the other end.
  2. Cut out trees in Wild Wasabi. You’ll need two of the double tree and one of the single tree.
  3. Cut out two deer using the Gold Foil
  4. I used the swirl image from Star of Light set and Versamark across the trees and sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.
  5. Add trees and deer to the card using Tombo Multi Glue
  6. I stamped the Merry Christmas from Star of Light in Versamark after I build my card so I could see where to add the sentiment
  7. I added a few Stars from the Carols of Christmas Set and embossed in gold as well.
  8. I attached the Thick decorated Mat to the gold mat and made sure it was straight. Then attached to the card using the Foam Strips.

    2. Using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp “Deck the Halls” on Very Vanilla piece and layer onto Tranquil Tide mat piece.
    3. Using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp small flower and small dots on each side of sentiment. Using Tranquil Tide ink, stamp 2 sets of leaves around flower on each side of sentiment.
    4. Using SNAIL, adhere the foil acetate to card base. Be sure to run your SNAIL in the middle of the piece so once you put the next layer on top the SNAIL will not show through.
    5. Using SNAIL, attach ribbon to the long Tranquil Tide piece and attach to card base, on top of foil acetate.
    6. Attach stamped sentiment unit to card base.

I will help you design your holiday cards and we'll start with a complimentary one hour design session (in person if you live near me, or on the phone or via skype if you live away) to help you figure out exactly what type of card you would like. Sometimes it just takes verbalizing your thoughts and ideas with someone else to put it all into perspective. I'd love to help you achieve the perfect card so please do email me and let's get the ball rolling!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you've enjoyed my Carols of Christmas Sneak Peek Inspiration Sheets!
