Not Too Early!

Announcements/ Holidays / Special Days/ Join My Team/ Paper crafting

Doesn't it seem strange to be talking about Christmas when September just BARELY got here? It does to me, but I know that by the time I can blink twice, it's gonna be here!

Hi All!

Dave, (a.k.a. The Stamp Slave), here. I figured I'd jump in and help out so that, when the next Stampin' Up! incentive trip comes up, I can point back to this post and say, “Yes! Really! I helped!” That's worth a trip to Maui, isn't it?? LOL… (By the way, sure would be ‘funner' if some of y'all came along with us on some of these fabulous trips! Ask Anne how…)

The new Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog will be out on Thursday and it's spectacular, as usual! I'll be spending some time tomorrow getting the picture together and setting up the link so that you'll be able to click and go right to the download page! Be sure to come back on Thursday morning to see what a marvelous job I've done! 😉 Then, click the link, (it will be in the sidebar on the right), and download the catalog so you can see what I mean.

I've attached a picture above of a project done with the, “Wrapped In Plaid Suite”. The Wrapped In Plaid Suite is available in the new catalog. If you want the whole thing, you'll get the stamp set, punch, DSP, ribbon, some brightly-colored “Jingle Bells”, and some gold mini pizza boxes. If you want a bit less than that, there's the Bundle, which includes the stamp set and punch. Or… if you just want a couple of things, they are all individually available. Just let us know how we can help.

And please remember, when it comes time to pack for Maui, please back me up. Just say, “He DID help!”

Where Are You Christmas?

Classes / Events/ Holidays / Special Days

Can you believe Christmas is almost here! I've been listening to Christmas songs during the day while I work. We do all sorts of fun things at our office, including cube decorations. Our Underwriting gang is doing a “Grinch” theme and I am loving it!

Where Are You CHristmas?

Have you seen this movie? Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear this Faith Hill, Where Are You Christmas?, one of the songs from the movie.

https://youtu.be/P14jxKY3Gy8https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=faith+hill+christmas&view=detail&mid=E8C8FB8FFE685A6AA118E8C8FB8FFE685A6AA118&FORM=VIRE

I think this song captures the best moment in the movie, when the Grinch's heart became full of love and spilled over to the folks in Who-ville.

Love. Isn't that what Christmas is really all about? Yes, the presents with glittery bows, the smell of Christmas cookies baking in the oven, spending time with family and friends are all wonderful. Who doesn't love shaking that special present under the tree in hopeful anticipation? The joy in my grand-cherubs eyes brings ME much joy, too. But truly, without love, where would we be?

If you'll indulge me for another moment, I want to share a couple of pictures from our Girls, INK Christmas party last night. My heart is always so full after our annual party. Even though not everyone could attend, it truly is an evening filled with laughter and love. We come from different places, all joined Stampin' Up! for different reasons, but we truly love each other and what we do!

Where Are You Christmas?

Where Are You Christmas?

Love. Yes, my heart is full of love this season. I have wonderful family and friends whom I dearly love and love me. And, I believe, I have an even greater love. The love of God in the love of His son Jesus. Indeed I am truly blessed.

Love. I wish lots of love to you and your families as we head into this Christmas season. Thanks for stopping by today!

Christmas is Coming in July!

Announcements/ Holidays / Special Days/ Join My Team/ Paper crafting

Christmas is coming in July and I want you to get the gift!

I'd like to ask a favor. Please read this post all the way to the end and watch the short video. If you see something that might fit for you, let's chat!

Have you ever asked yourself if the Stampin' Up! Opportunity is right for YOU? If you've been involved in papercrafting you have most likely been to a Stampin' Up! party or class and maybe have even been asked if you'd like to become a demonstrator. I'll bet you have no clue what a “demonstrator” does.

We have an awesome promotion starting on July 1 and I would hate for you to miss it if the Stampin' Up! Opportunity IS right for you. The paper Snips and SNAIL Adhesive are only two of the “Christmas in July” gifts that come with the Starter Kit during the month of July.

The Starter Kit already includes:

  • $125 of any catalog product for $99 plus tax
  • FREE shipping
  • $65 in business supplies

From July 1 – 31 Santa Claus will also be bringing a FREE Essentials Gift Pack including Paper Snips, SNAIL Adhesive, Grid Paper, two D Blocks (one for you and one for a stamping friend!), and a Bone Folder. That’s an added value of $52. The Carols of Christmas Stamp Set from the holiday catalog will also be included ($20 value).

I've been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 15 years, the last ten of which I have been a “career” demonstrator. What's that you might ask?

As a career-minded demonstrator, I am in this to MAKE MONEY, not just SPEND MONEY. When I first joined Stampin' Up!, it was purely to get the discount. There is nothing wrong with that; I have lots of “hobby” demonstrators on my team. But the truth is, if this is your hobby I would bet more money is going out the door than is coming in. Again, if this works for your situation that's great. That is exactly what I did for the first few years. After awhile though I found myself wondering if I could really make money with this. I saw other demonstrators making money, having fun with their customers and teams, setting their own hours, going on great trips, and so much more. If they could do this, why couldn't I?

I started asking questions and getting more information. Within a short time, I was actually MAKING money! My husband started paying attention and when I earned our first incentive trip, he was sold! He has actually been my business partner now for years and is a big part of my successful stamping business.

I absolutely LOVE what I do and today I'd like to share a little bit about my team, Girls, INK,  and see how we might be a fit for you and your needs.

Now…one last thing…watch this short video about one of our awesome Stampin' Up! events.

OK, I've just got one question. If you love to have all the latest in papercrafting supplies, would like to make extra money, meet new friends, , and set your own hours, don't you think it would be worth an investment of $99?

Let's chat soon so you can celebrate Christmas in July!

How I Stay SANE During the Week Before Christmas!

Tips, Tricks, & Techniques/ Tuesday Tips

frazzle_free_christmas

I think we all can identify with this charming lady….we want to do it all, prepare the best meal, have THE perfect gift for everyone, have a spotless home,…..yada, yada, yada! Well, this year I vowed to step back and bring some sanity into the season. Maybe these tips just might help you, too, as you are rushing around to get everything done during the last week before Christmas!

  1. Right now, sit down and make a list of everything left to do; I'll wait! Got it? Now……read through it again and strike through anything that really doesn't have to be done. I mean really, do you HAVE to dust every light bulb in your home?
  2. Pick up the phone RIGHT NOW, call your best friend and set a time to meet her for coffee (or lunch, or whatever you girls do for fun) BEFORE the end of the week. You will be glad you did, and she will, too!
  3. Haven't finished your Christmas cards…me neither!! They probably won't get there on time now anyway so give yourself a break…who cares if they arrive late…it's the thought that counts!
  4. Haven't finished all your holiday baking…me neither!! I have gotten some cookie batches done but I'll head out to my favorite bakery to buy the rest and NO ONE will care. As long as there are sugar-coated delights to munch on, your family will be happy and you will be happy your fingers are flour-free!
  5. Take time each day this week to read some of your favorite book, an inspirational one would be great. For me…it's the Bible. If I plant some Scripture in my head before my day starts, it's better for me…AND everyone I meet.
  6. SMILE! Whether you are at home, work, the mall…wherever…a happy smile will make YOU feel better AND will brighten the day of everyone you see.
  7. SLEEP! This one is counter intuitive I know…we usually stay up into the wee hours getting everything done. Go to bed early…when momma is rested and happy, EVERYTHING else runs much more smoothly.

So…..I hope I've given you a few chuckles today AND some ideas to keep your sanity this last week before Christmas!!

On The Fifth Week Of Christmas My Demo Gave To me…..

Uncategorized

Some ornaments as pretty as can be!

We have a tradition in our family that I started when my grown children were very young and it continues to this day; on Christmas Eve, they each get a new ornament to put on the tree. (of course, now that our family has expanded to include one daughter in law and three grandchildren, my ornament purchasing has, too!) AND, I started my nephews' ornament collection the year each of them were born, so let's just say I've bought QUITE a few over the years! This year I'm starting a new tradition with my two oldest grandchildren of helping them to make some ornaments to THEIR tree. You might want to consider this idea for your family.

Ornaments
Holiday Ornaments

1 Choose one paper for each ornament you
want to make. We recommend Designer
Series paper or stamped card stock.
2 You’ll need eight circles for each ornament,
so cut your sheet of paper in fourths, and
run one 6" x 6" sheet through the Big Shot
with the Circle 3D Ornament Bigz die, then
another. You’ll have two 6" x 6" sheets left
over for someone else to use.
3 Fold each circle at the score lines, and then
adhere eight circles together to form each
ornament. Punch a hole in one flap, thread
ribbon through, and tie.
4 (Optional) To create a tag for each
ornament, stamp a sentiment, and punch
out or cut out.
Fundamental Phrases set; French Filigree background
stamp; Whisper White card stock; Real Red textured
card stock; Merry Moments Designer Series paper;
Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad; VersaMark® pad; Clear
Stampin’ Emboss® powder; Real Red 1/4" grosgrain
and Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon; Crop-A-Dile; Sizzix
Big Shot; Circle 3D Ornament Bigz die; crochet thread;
hole punch

On The Second Week Of Christmas, My Demo Gave To Me…..

Uncategorized

another card for all the world to see. (and create of course!)

DSC00221

This card was created by Elisa Ford for our monthly group gathering and swap. I love the simplicity of this card and how Elisa makes use of a small bit of ribbon in a strategic spot on the card!

Instructions:

Cut Bashful Blue Card Stock to 6 x 6 (one sheet of 12 x 12 paper will make 4 cards!); score and fold in half. Round the corners using the 3/16 inch corner rounder (item #109047). Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock 3" x 2" and round the corners like on the blue. Stamp the tree from Snow Swirled (Item # 111690) using Handsome Hunter Classic Ink (Item #105215) Stamp the circle images (also from Snow Swirled) onto scraps of Whisper White Card Stock (one in Real Red, one in Bashful Blue and one in Summer Sun) Punch out the Summer Sun Image for the top of the tree using the 1/2" circle punch; use the 1" circle punch for the blue one, and use the 1 1/4" punch for the red one) Our punches are found on pages 186-187 of our current Idea Book/Catalog. Using Bashful Blue Classic Ink, stamp your greeting on the front of the card (Elisa used the Seasons Greeting stamp also from the Snow Swirled Stamp Set). Final step is to punch an opening on the front of the card using the horizontal slot punch (Item #105089). Then take about a 3" piece of White Taffeta Ribbon (Item #109070) and tie a knot through the opening.

It's not to late to wow your family and friends with a hand-crafted card this year; I'd love to help you turn your idea into a finished product; feel free to contact me and we'll set up a complimentary design consultation.
