Cruising and Crafting Girls, INK Style!

Announcements/ Classes / Events/ Stamping

Happy Friday Stamping Peeps! I'm looking forward to the weekend and spending time with all the fabulous dads in my life! Hope you have some fun plans as well! Speaking of fun plans, I wanted to share some info today on Cruising and Crafting Girls, INK Style!

Cruising and Crafting Girls, INK Style!

My team and customers love to stamp and we LOVE to cruise! SO…we decided to take a leap, get a travel agent, and plan a stamping “adventure” in 2019! Can't you just imagine yourself walking this beautiful beach?! I sure can!

We'll be setting sail on August 25, 2019 from Galveston, TX aboard the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas. In addition to Galveston, our ports include Fallmouth, Jamaica, George Town, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, Mexico. On our three “sea days” we'll be stamping using the latest Stampin' Up! products from the 2019 Holiday Catalog. Of course, a Girls, INK event wouldn't be complete without door prizes and gifts, too! Did I already mention food, lol? All our events include fabulous food and I think Royal Caribbean just “might” be able to take care of that for us! 🙂

I have a team member coming from Maryland and customers from cities all over. We would love to have you join us!

Take a look at the flyer below and then give me a shout if you have any questions at all. A small, minimum deposit is required to book your cabin and balance does not have to be paid until May 2019.

Sunday Crafting With August Paper Pumpkin

Announcements/ Paper crafting/ Paper Pumpkin

Hey Stampers! Happy Monday! Today I wanted to share my Sunday Crafting with August Paper Pumpkin projects. Sunday morning was spent at church with my KidZone First and Second Graders. It was promotion Sunday so it was quite wild and a little tearful for some of the younger ones. We got through it and parents picked up everyone so I didn't have to bring home an extra child! After lunch with hubby I settled into my craft room to start my Sunday crafting with my August Paper Pumpkin. My kit arrived last week but I've been so busy I hadn't even had a chance to open it.

I was happily surprised when I looked inside. Two of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors, Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral were featured in the projects.

I had quite a few extra stickers and stamped ovals left over so I grabbed one extra sheet of Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral cardstock and made a few extra cards. I usually do end up with extra supplies each month which is only one of the great features of the Paper Pumpkin kits.

I just love my Paper Pumpkin subscription! Each month, a bright orange box arrives in my mailbox complete with everything I need to make cards, home decor, or holiday-themed projects.

You might wonder why I would get a “kit” when, as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I already have quite a bit of supplies in my craft room. Let me let you in on a little secret. Truth is, sometimes, I just like to pull out a project, follow directions, and end up with cute cards without all the cutting and measuring! I enjoy this on Sundays especially when I'm just kicking back and relaxing.

If you've never had an orange box filled with a fun crafting project arrive in your mailbox, now is the perfect time to give it a try and save money!

If you subscribe before September 10, Stampin' Up! will deliver September’s (gorgeous!) Paper Pumpkin kit straight to your door, complete with everything you need to make adorable projects—all for 50% off!  That's only $9.98, including shipping! What a great deal!

To get this amazing box of goodies, sign up using promo code HALFOFF0917 at by September 10. That's it, easy peasy! Then just watch for an email letting you know that Paper Pumpkin is on its way! This half price offer is good for your first month and after that, the price return to $19.95 (still an amazing deal!)

The orange box is always filled with cute projects like these:

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll give Paper Pumpkin a try; I know you won't be disappointed!

Creating A Thanksgiving Table Decoration Is Easy Peasy

Holidays / Special Days/ Stamping

Creating a Thanksgiving Table decoration IS easy, peasy; how? Just make cute, little drumstick favors using Stampin' Up!'s Polka Dot Tag a Bag Gift Bags! Your kids can definitely join in this fun craft!

Create the top of the drumstick “frill” by using a 3-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Fold and cut every 1/2″. You can wrap around a pencil or marker to fluff it up a bit!

Creating the orange feather is also an easy, peasy task, when you use the Four Feathers Product Bundle. You'll even save money by purchasing the bundle, rather than purchasing the framelits and stamp set separately.

“Stuff” your decoration with  candy, notes of thankfulness, Scripture, small toys….whatever works for you!

This Is Your Brain On Crafts….

Tuesday Tips/ Videos

I just read the most interesting article that supports what those of us in the crafting vortex have known all along! Crafting, whether it is knitting, painting, stamping, scrapbooking, tatting, etc., has a beneficial effect on the brain.

One of the benefits that neuroscientists are beginning to acknowledge is  that crafting can protect the brain from damage caused by aging….who else is thrilled to hear this??!!!

One of the reasons I joined Stampin' Up! in the first place was for an “escape”; whether in my own studio, or with other kindred crafters. Who knew that we would now have a scientific reason for our habit…woo hoo!!

Announcements/ Classes / Events

Be the first to see the 2014-2015 annual catalog . . . just as if you were at a star-studded Hollywood movie premiere! You'll get a sneak peak at upcoming new releases (AKA pre-sale products) AND–what would a premiere party be without a bit of SWAG (sealed with a gift)? No one will go home from this party empty-handed!

And here's more exciting news: unlike Hollywood premieres, you won't have to be in Hollywood to see it first! Why? Because the 2014-2015 Catalog Premiere will be simulcast to a theater near you at the following locations! My downline, Girls, INK, and I will be attending at the Plano location…come and join us!

This is so exciting; Stampin' Up! has never done anything like this! While this event is for demonstrators only, if you are not a demonstrator, you can be!  If you join before the end of March you can get $51 in extra goodies in your starter kit!  So for $99 plus tax (FREE shipping) you can choose $150 worth of product! AND, to sweeten the pot even more, anyone who joins before our annual Convention in July, gets to attend Convention ($280+ value)  for free! This applies even if you have been a demo before. To join, visit my website

I think the best part of joining, no matter where you live, is you will be part of my wonderful downline, Girls, INK. While I live in Texas, I have ladies who live in other parts of the country. Think of us as favorite, long-distance relatives. 🙂

I used the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack from Celebrate the Everyday Spring Catalog. I am so thrilled that Stampin' Up! is including these 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ paper stacks in our catalogs. Since there are multiple sheets of the same pattern it is easy to replicate projects.

Wedding Car Cans

People/ Projects

My daughter and her friend were in a big wedding a couple of weeks ago. Each bridesmaid had to decorate a can for the back of the newlywed “getaway” car. Of course, Ashley asked if they could come over and use my “stuff” and of course, I said yes! I thought…woo hoo…another chance to draw them into my stamping vortex!!

By the way…YES, their cans WERE the best!! 🙂

Framed Art With A Positioning Trick!

Holidays / Special Days/ Projects/ Punch Art/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

Framed Art is all the rage! Here is one I did over the weekend using Stampin' Up!'s Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. My plan for the frame is to find an old one at Goodwill, sand it, and paint it white with Island Indigo and Pool Party Ink sponged in for an antique look.

blue christmas frame

If you've made these framed art pieces, have you struggled to get everything centered? Nothing seems to work “just right”? My fabulous downline, Debbie Johnson, figured out the perfect solution and she said I could share it with you.

You will need four strips of cardstock, cut about 2 inches longer than your piece. Two of them should be 3/4″ wide and the other two should be 1/2″ wide. Attach the 3/4″ strips to the top and bottom of the piece, so that the outside edge lines up exactly with the outer edge of your piece. Attach the 1/2″ wide strips on each of the sides, making sure the outer edge of each strip lines up exactly with the outer edge of your piece. (you will have a box around the frame).  Use a post-it note in each corner to keep these pieces securely positioned on top of your piece.

Lay out all of your squares in the design/pattern you want for your finished piece. After you have each square positioned in the perfect spot, attach your corner pieces first, using either hot glue or Tombow Glue  (you don't want to use SNAIL because the pieces might fall off over time). Do the pieces on the top and bottom next, leaving about 1/4″ between your paper squares. Lastly, do the middle row. Carefully remove the paper strips and all your squares should be perfectly aligned. Don't you agree Debbie is a genius??!!

Stepped Up Paper Pumpkin

Paper crafting/ Product Information/ Punch Art

I love the cute little note holder we got this month! It was a tad bit plain for me so I added a binder clip for hanging to the back, tied on some ribbon and added a couple of Gumball Green dahlias to complete. What do you think?

If you haven't heard about Paper Pumpkin, it is a monthly “paper escape” subscription that comes directly to you.  You might get a project like this one or it could be a card (with all the supplies you need to make several), perhaps a mini album, or another type of 3D project. Check out all the details at:

If you decide to give it a try, I'd love for you to choose me, Anne Brown, as your demonstrator when you order it.
