Be Yourself; Everyone else is already taken!
Hey stampers! JUST when I thought spring was here and started playing around with all my fun flower stamp sets and dies…cold and rain came back today. Oh well, I'm still in a spring mood so my clubs, both my local and online clubs will be doing “spring” focused projects.
My in person clubs will be making these tags for their block sets. We started these back in the fall when my Girls, INK tam had our annual Pampered Stamper events and our guests made 2 sets, Fall and Christmas. I continued on with a set for Valentines Day, done at my January clubs.
The blocks themselves are made from 2 x 4's cut into 5 1/2″ pieces, sanded, then spray painted black. You could even use chalk paint and then no sanding is necessary! The tag bases are all 4 7/8″ x 3″. You can use solid colors or Designer Series paper and then embellish as desired. The letters are all cut using the Large Letters Framelits (141712).
Now they aren't cheap mind you ($99.00) but once you have the set you'll be able to cut letters for cards, banners, home decor…anything!
Here are the cards for my online clubs:
Did you know you can be a part of my monthly online clubs no matter where in the U.S. you might live? Here's how it works:
Each month I set up a hostess code and publicize it in my monthly newsletter and here on the blog. If you don't get my newsletter, you might want to subscribe-just put your info into the big, coral circle above. I share different ideas and projects on my various social media sites so be sure you follow me on all of them so you don't miss anything!
This month's hostess code is: HVVV9R37. Place any order of at least $35 at my online store and you'll be in the club. You'll receive a PDF Tutorial with detailed measurements, supply list and instructions for each card. Later in the month (I usually mail out the kits around the 25th of each month), you'll receive a kit for each card in the mail, complete with all the cardstock, die-cut pieces, embellishments and envelopes. You can purchase the stamp sets and dies to create the cards exactly like mine, or use any stamps you like. This month's cards use the following stamp sets, dies and paper:
Oh So Succulent Photopolymer Bundle (145184-$48.50)
Timeless Textures Stamp Set (w-140514-$23.00, c-140517-$17.00)
Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set(w-141531-$$49-2 part set, c-141534-$37.00)
Birds and Blooms Thinlets Dies (141477-$27.00)

Do you have a dream, but maybe you feel like you've fallen short or, maybe even failed? We all fail at one time or another; the true test is if we keep going!
When I was sitting in our Catalog Premiere party last night, where we got a chance to see many of the great stamp sets, inks, papers and accessories, I had this thought. How many of the creative directors employed by Stampin' Up! have had an idea that never became a reality. I bet quite a few! But, guess what…I bet they just moved on to the next idea and helped to design some of the fabulous new products that you'll get to see very soon! (I'll have a post later in the week to give you all your “catalog options”! 🙂
SO….if you might be in the middle of a “dry” spell or a “season of apparent failures”…don't give up!! You are in good company if you just keep on keepin' on! Remember:
-Beethoven’s music teacher once told him that he was a hopeless composer.
·Abraham Lincoln campaigned for a seat in the Illinois General Assembly and failed. He then opened a general store which failed after only a few months.
·Walt Disney was fired by the editor of a newspaper for lacking creativity.
·The Ford Motor Company was Henry Ford’s third business. The first two didn’t work out.
·A teacher told Thomas Edison that he was too stupid to learn anything.
·Babe Ruth struck out 1,330 times.
