Not Too Early!

Announcements/ Holidays / Special Days/ Join My Team/ Paper crafting

Doesn't it seem strange to be talking about Christmas when September just BARELY got here? It does to me, but I know that by the time I can blink twice, it's gonna be here!

Hi All!

Dave, (a.k.a. The Stamp Slave), here. I figured I'd jump in and help out so that, when the next Stampin' Up! incentive trip comes up, I can point back to this post and say, “Yes! Really! I helped!” That's worth a trip to Maui, isn't it?? LOL… (By the way, sure would be ‘funner' if some of y'all came along with us on some of these fabulous trips! Ask Anne how…)

The new Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog will be out on Thursday and it's spectacular, as usual! I'll be spending some time tomorrow getting the picture together and setting up the link so that you'll be able to click and go right to the download page! Be sure to come back on Thursday morning to see what a marvelous job I've done! 😉 Then, click the link, (it will be in the sidebar on the right), and download the catalog so you can see what I mean.

I've attached a picture above of a project done with the, “Wrapped In Plaid Suite”. The Wrapped In Plaid Suite is available in the new catalog. If you want the whole thing, you'll get the stamp set, punch, DSP, ribbon, some brightly-colored “Jingle Bells”, and some gold mini pizza boxes. If you want a bit less than that, there's the Bundle, which includes the stamp set and punch. Or… if you just want a couple of things, they are all individually available. Just let us know how we can help.

And please remember, when it comes time to pack for Maui, please back me up. Just say, “He DID help!”

Happy Birthday Stamp Slave!!

Classes / Events/ Stamping

Taking a little side trip from stamping today to say how blessed I am to be married to Dave, my personal Stamp Slave!! Not only does he help me by cutting paper, making deliveries, getting my newsletter ready, and SO much more….he has even been known to drive to a workshop to bring me something I've forgotten! I think I will keep him…what do you think??

We had a family dinner last night to celebrate (adults only, grand cherubs had to miss this one!) so I thought I'd give you a glimpse inside the curtain so you could see my awesome hubby, my son, daughter in law, daughter and soon to be son in law!!

Repair Your Own Punch

WHAT??? Why in the world would I be showing you how to repair your own punch instead of selling you a new one?

My philosophy is to be a resource for you and provide the MOST excellent customer service so you will keep coming back! I have very loyal downline and customers so I think I must be doing something right?!

In addition, many of the tool videos you will see on my YouTube channel, are done by my very own Stamp Slave, Dave; you have sent many comments that you love seeing (well, HEARING) him in front of the camera instead of me from time to time!

So, sit back and enjoy his latest punch repair video! Oh…and don't forget to subscribe to my channel, so you'll always see the latest and greatest video tutorials and other ideas!

Butterfly Punch and Envelope Liner

Big Shot/ Die Cut/ Paper crafting

My friend and Girls, INK member,  Debbie  Johnson, has been on a butterfly kick lately and has been burning up my phone text messaging me her creations. She gets lonely when I don't send her back any of my samples  so how could I disappoint? Here's one I just sent to her.

This simple card uses The Elegant Butterfly Punch (127526). When I am punching, especially if I want my punched images to line up perfectly, I always turn my punch over to punch so that I can see what I'm doing.

I used the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper (132184)…yes, I also find that rather humorous…SWEATER WEATHER in Dallas…NOT!!! But, it will be here soon! I put a piece of the “soft sky” patterned piece behind my 2 butterflies and then punched one butterfly out of the Tangerine Tango solid color piece.

I don't know about you, but I tend to gravitate to the same colors when crafting. With Stampin' Up!'s DSP I find it much easier to broaden my color horizons because they've done the color matching work for me! I do still rely on my Color Coach, too;  and when I'm feeling really adventurous, I come up with my own color schemes! 🙂

You'll notice I used the Envelope Liners Framelits Die (132172)  to coordinate my card and envelope. If you didn't see the short video I posted earlier in the week, check it out. You'll definitely want to add this little tool to your Wish List.

Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer

What a GREAT Tool!

Happy Saturday Morning! It's the Stamp Slave today, (that would be me…).

As you can see below, I've got a new video.  I know that the Stampin' Trimmer has been available for a while, but I only looked at it for the first time the other day.  This is a HUGE improvement over the old trimmer and Anne has been asking me to do a video about it.

Hope you enjoy this.

There are other trimmers out there, of course there are.  However, I think this new Stampin Up Paper Trimmer is just the cat's meow!

If you don't own this tool and are still using the old one, you've GOT to try this.  I think you'll love it.  If you want to order one, (and who wouldn't ?? )  😉 , just click right here!

I hope you enjoyed this video.  Please share it with other folks and, by all means, leave a comment.

Thanks for watching!

As always, any questions, please contact Anne.

Ribbon Holder For Free!

Product Information/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

Do I have your attention? I thought so. Well, as many of you know, Dave, The Stamp Slave, is in Haiti for a couple of weeks volunteering as an Emergency Room Nurse. He went there a year or so ago after the earthquake and the Lord provided another opportunity for him to go again for 2 weeks.

What does Haiti have to do with a ribbon holder you might ask. Well, I have quite a few rolls of ribbon that I haven't been able to store. I didn't want to buy more holders since we live in an apartment right now and don't have a lot of space. Usually I would hit up Dave to make me something, but since he's gone I had to be creative. Look what I came up with! (I have never seen this anywhere else, so if you came up with this before, I guess great minds think alike…ha!)

I used a wire coat hanger that was forlornly hanging in my closet (hence, the "free" ribbon holder"), untwisted the wire part at the top, loaded my spools of ribbon, (17 to be exact) and then bent each end over my shelf and…voila!

So, not only am I now your favorite Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I am your favorite Bargain Idea of the Day person, too…lol!

Don't forget that our BOGO – Buy One Get One Free Designer Series Paper special ends on August 31st! You can order 24/7 at my online store. But, I don't sell coat hangers to use for ribbon so you will have to raid your own closet to make one.

Happy Stamping!

Tuesday’s Tip

My Digital Studio / Digital/ Tuesday Tips

Today's tip is for all you "digital divas" or traditional scrapbookers who have been wondering what all this digital stuff is all about! Stampin' Up!'s "My Digital Studio" is a very reasonably priced, easy to learn and use, program.  It lets you create scrapbook albums, cards, calendars, invitations, multimedia projects, and more, using SU's exclusive artwork, accessories and colors in a digital format.

I've recently found out that many of my customers don't know that there is a My Digital Studio Catalog, (PDF file), of available downloads. Some of our most popular retired stamp sets, (no longer available in our Idea Book and Catalog), are available as digital downloads.

You are able to access the catalog by visiting Be  sure to check back monthly for all the new additions! I would love to show you how easy it is to create beautiful digital projects.  Contact me today!

The Stamp Slave is busy creating some projects from our recent Stampin' Up! Cruise to Alaska so we'll be posting those soon!

Triple Layer Punch – Video

Paper crafting/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques/ Videos

Stampin' Up! has just come out with a new punch design, Layer Punches!  So far, there are two of them and they are available in the Stampin' Up! 2011 Summer Mini Catalog.  They are the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch and the Doily Triple Layer Punch.

Since they are so different from what we've had up to this point, Dave has done a Stamp Slave Video to show what he's learned about using it and to give a couple of extra tips.

I hope that gives you some ideas! If you'd like to order one or both of the punches, just click the 'Order Anytime' button in the upper right corner of this page.

Any questions, please email me or give me a call.

He’s Ba-a-ack… (With Another Video)

Yes, it's been too long… and I have a ball making these Stamp Slave Videos!  I'll have to find some more ideas soon because this fun.  My 15 minutes of fame, maybe?  This one is a technique video about how Anne made up a flower for one of her handmade cards with the Bird Punch and several others.  Hope you enjoy it!

I'm looking for ideas!  If you'd like to see something in particular on video, please let Anne know and we will get together and figure out how to do it.  Please leave a comment if you find it useful or entertaining.

More Paper Flowers Ala The Stamp Slave

Dave, aka The Stamp Slave, has come out of his annual winter hibernation and will once again be sharing some new flowers made using our Stampin' Up! Punches in unique ways. Great for using in your handmade cards! I saw the technique for this flower on Maria Vanderform's blog, changed it up a bit, and turned it into an Easter card. This flower was made using the wing from our XL Bird Punch, the  1 3/4" Scallop Punch and the 2 Step Owl Punch.

I'll show you another flower card made with the Bird Punch tomorrow.  Dave will be doing some videos about both of these within a few days, so check back!

We appreciate your comments.  Please don't forget to leave a comment from time to time!

Be sure to email me with any questions.

Do You Sew Or Do Needlework?

Dave, our friendly Stamp Slave, is not just known for his video techniques and tool tips. He also does beautiful cross stitch projects. One thing that drives him crazy though is when he loses his extra needles or straight pins. So, I decided he needs a pincushion! Here is an adorable one made with some of the fabric in our Occasions Mini Catalog. It is very easy to make.

Pin cushion project

Supplies: Sweet Stitches Designer Fabric, cut into 6" square; Sweet Stitches Big Designer Buttons; hot glue gun; straight pins; small wide-mouth canning jar and ring; cardboard, polyester fiberfill stuffing

1. Trace the lid of the jar on the cardboard; cut out.
2. Place the stuffing on the cardboard and cover with the fabric. Hot glue the edges to the underside of the cardboard.
3. Place the pincushion inside the canning ring.
4. Fill jar with buttons and place the lid on the jar.

Valentine Pouch

Die Cut/ Paper crafting/ Projects/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you saw my Valentine Pouch project last week. Here is one I made over the weekend, using the same pattern but different supplies. I had gotten some of our new trinkets in the Occasions Mini and I used one to add the perfect touch for this project.

If you look carefully in the center of the fabric flower, you will see a little rosebud I created out of paper. (I used a big brad in a second one I made, but wanted to use a technique I saw on the Stampin' Up Demo site on this one to change things up a bit). I used my Big Shot Die Cut Machine with our Flower Folds Bigz XL (one of our Big Shot Dies), Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric, (also out of the Occasions Mini) and some Rose Red Smooth Card Stock to create the flower I used as my focal point.

We will post a Stamp Slave video teaching this technique in the next few days, so be sure to check back!
