No Time To Stamp? Want a Beautiful Card?

Memories & More/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

Hey Stampers! Let's face it. We are all long on to do lists and short on time these days, especially where our fun hobbies are concerned. There are jobs to go to, kids activities, meals to prep and cook, the list goes on and on. When we have to slash the list, our “fun” activities are usually the ones to go.

Today's project features a card that has NO stamping! How's that for time-saving?

It uses our Memories & More card pack; and not just any card pack. This one is coming in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog that goes “live” on June 4.These cards are part of a wonderful suite of projects that is perfect for casual AND avid stampers.

No Time To Stamp? Want a Beautiful Card?

The card pack includes 50 double-sided cards, 6 single-sided printed vellum specialty cards , and 4 sticker sheets, all for $11.00! In addition, if you scrapbook in addition to cardmaking, these products are acid and lignin free.

Here are the instructions and supply list for today's project. I think a set of these note cards, using different designs from the card pack would make a lovely gift!  No driving to the mall, no thinking up designs, totally easy peasy! Once your cards are put together, just pop them into one of our acetate card boxes and decorate with a ribbon bow or belly band and you're all set!

  • Paper: Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes (149487)
  • Other: Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Pack (149445); Stitched Rectangles Dies (148551); SNAIL adhesive (104332; Die Cutting Machine

  1. Cut down one of the card bases in the Memories & More Cards & Envelopes to 8 ½” x 5 ½”; fold to create card front.
  2. Adhere one of the 4” x 3” Memories & More Cards to the left side of the card front using SNAIL Adhesive.
  3. Cut out the sentiment from the Memories & More Card using the 3 ½” x 2 1/8” die from the Rectangle Framelits using a die cutting machine.
  4. Adhere the rectangle piece onto the card front.
  5. Add one magnolia blossom and two leaf stickers from the Memories and More Cards to the top right corner of the rectangle.

See how easy?!

Here are a few other samples using the Magnolia Lane Suite.

Come Stamp With Me…Virtually!!

Announcements/ Classes / Events

Have you been bummed because you live too far away to be a part of my local stamp clubs? Well, have no fear, now you can come stamp with me…virtually!

I'm so excited to add this to my business…so many of you have been asking me to offer this, and I'm now able to do it!

How does an “Online” Stamp Club work?
It's really simple!

Each month club members place a $35 merchandise order from my online Stampin' Up! store.  You then will receive a FREE, EXCLUSIVE card kit in the mail from me with pre-cut supplies to make 6 cards along with a PDF instruction page on how to make the cards.  I will ALSO create a video tutorial for each card and publish it on my YouTube channel! Some videos will take you through how to do the card from start to finish and some may just go over new techniques or things you may not have seen before.

I provide all of the supplies in the free kit except for the stamps, ink, and adhesive. The cardstock, envelopes, Big Shot die-cuts, punched cardstock, etc. to make the cards will come Priority Mail in a package from me.

  •  You must spend $35 per month that you participate. You can choose to participate on a month to month basis. This is not an “auto-ship” program so your card will not be on file. You will go right to my online store and place your order each month. You can purchase anything you want; however, each month will focus on a specific stamp set and I would suggest you buy that set as one of your choices if you don't already have it.
  •  Your order must be placed by the 10th of the month and you must use the Hostess Code for that month to qualify for the EXCLUSIVE FREE card kit. The hostess code for each month will be posted on my blog, my FaceBook page, and in the newsletter by the first of the month. Be sure to add the right hostess code for that month to your minimum $35 order.
  • hostess codeThe Hostess Code Goes Here

  • If you sign up and participate for 6 consecutive months, you can choose 2 hostess sets from the catalog for FREE, (these will be sent at the end of your six month commitment).
  • Card Kits and instructions will be mailed by the 22-25th of the month. This will give me time to order all the kit supplies, cut everything and mail out to all participants by Priority Mail. Remember, you will place a minimum $35 order at my online store for each month's stamp set or your alternative selections.
  • Sounds pretty cool, right??
  • Also, VERY IMPORTANT…, when you check out, be sure to check the box that says “Allow my demonstrator to contact me”; otherwise, it's against Stampin' Up!'s rules for me to do so and I also won't know you ordered for the club!
  • Each month there will be a featured stamp set. In some months there may be other featured tools too!  They will be listed and shown in a picture like the one below.

  • Usually, I will try to keep the stamp set, and or bundle or stamp set and punch around $35. But, sometimes will be a little more or a little less.

I will show all the cards in the email I send out on the first of each month, so be sure you do subscribe to my email newsletter.

Questions? Email me.

Ready to get started? Place your order at my online store… don't forget to put in the hostess code! I can't wait to share these free kits with you!

Here's an example of the type of cards you will receive in your free card kit:

Ten Things A Stamper Needs!

Big Shot/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

I'm often asked by new stampers for a list of the top ten things a stamper needs. If you start with these items, you'll be able to create a lot of great projects and then add to your collection as time and money allows!

1.  Paper Trimmer that will cut 12″x12″ paper –  Essential for cutting/scoring straight lines;  if you have a good trimmer, you can cut your own cards from full sheets – way cheaper than buying pre-cut!

2.  Cardstock/ Designer Series Paper –  Stampin Up!  has the best in my opinion and my customers agree; especially Whisper White for getting crisp images!

3.  Stamps –  What I love about Stampin Up! stamp sets is that they come in sets so all the images go together and coordinate.  We have three kinds: wood mount, clear mount, and photopolymer…which is your favorite?

4.  Ink Pads – I recommend a good black pad, probably StazOn or Memento, depending upon your coloring tool.

5.  VersaMark Pad – use for heat embossing or to create a watermark on your cardstock; so versatile!

6.  Adhesive –  Stampin' Up!'s SNAIL adhesive is my all purpose “go to” adhesive. Refills just pop in. Also high on my list are Stampin' Dimensionals and Tombow all purpose glue.

7.  Scissors – I personally like Stampin' Up! Paper Snips for most of my projects.

8.  Embellishments – so many from which to choose – my two favorite are buttons and ribbon.

9. Big Shot – Die Cutting Machine –  it will cut over 60 different materials to embellish your cards or to create 3D projects.    An investment but totally worth it; you can choose this as an item in your starter kit.

10.  Markers – Again my favorite are Stampin' Up!'s Stampin' Write Markers because they come in all the coordinating colors and have two tips;  you can use these to journal on your scrapbooking pages, write in your cards,  ink up stamps, or color in stamped images.

What is on your list that I might have forgotten??? Leave me a comment to share your thoughts with my readers!

Two Step Stamping Is Fun!

Product Information/ Stamping/ Videos

I have several newbie stampers in my clubs which is such a joy! Everything is new to them so I get to re-visit some techniques I might not have used in awhile and pretend I'm learning all over again with them!

Two step stamping is pretty easy to do (and for you perfectionists out there, the Stamp-a-Majig placement tool makes perfect alignment in this process a breeze).

This short video uses the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set; I think you'll enjoy it! Watch video now

You’ll find that our photopolymer is top-quality and gives a perfectly stamped image every time. The stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks and are easy to place just where you want them. And best of all, you get to enjoy tons of images for a great price!

Punch And Banner Scrapbooking

Big Shot/ Classes / Events/ Die Cut/ Scrapbook

Here is page #2 from my class.  Using punches and banners, I wanted to show the girls that, even without a lot of  embellishments, you can create awesome pages and layouts! Of course, I'm always happy to provide you with the most fabulous embellishments sold by Stampin' Up! 🙂

The girls created banners using the Banners Framelits Dies in the Occasions Catalog. They punched scallop circles on which they could journal; or, if they chose, use for small photos. They loved the Washi Tape for adhering the scallop circles, instead of adhesive. Leave me a comment and tell me your favorite way to use Washi Tape!

Of course, there are tons of ways you could “step up” this page. My goal, however, was to let them put together simple pages and have instant scrapbooking success!

Come back tomorrow and you'll see how a few strips of paper and Washi Tape makes a great background on your page!

Easter Share

Big Shot/ Die Cut/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques/ Tuesday Tips

Yes, I know Easter has come and gone but I wanted to share my card, including my design template. You can use this particular template over and over again for different occasions.

I started with my Color Coach to select my color palette; I chose So Saffron for my card base, Perfect Plum for my accent color, and Wild Wasabi for my ink color. Notice the dry embossing on the Whisper White? I used the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder but I used the “debossed side” instead of the embossed side on the front of my card; I wanted a very subtle look.

Card base: 8 – 1/2″ x 5 – 1/2″; Whisper White layer: 5 – 1/4″ x 4″; Perfect Plum strip: 4″ x 2- 1/4″, So Saffron patterned strip: 4″ x 2″. I used the Deco Labels Framelits for the layering on top and finished with three Subtles Candy Dots.

Visit my online store to see all the products I used.

Have fun creating your own cards using this layout.  Leave me a comment and let me know what colors and stamp sets you choose!
