What’s Up?

Announcements/ Paper crafting/ Tuesday Tips/ Videos

The sky, the moon, the sun…..okay, lame. But here is a REALLY cool thing!

Stampin' Up! offers so many coordinating products, my favorite of which are punches and stamp sets! One great “bundle” is The What's Up Punch which coordinates with the What's Up? Stamp Set and Eclectic Paper Piercing Template.

Check out this short video that shows some great ideas!

Here are the products highlighted in the video; click right on the product images for more details and easy, on-line shopping at my store.

Unfortunately our fabulous Paper Piercing Mat is on backorder for now…BUT you can easily slip a computer mouse pad or piece of foam under the piercing template, and you will get great results!

Mojo Monday Sketch and Challenge

Mojo Monday/ Paper Pumpkin

Hello stampers! Hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to roll with a new challenge!

For today's Mojo Monday Sketch and Challenge, instead of a card I created,  I wanted to share some great little note cards my downline Tracy made with Stampin' Up!'s February Paper Pumpkin Kit.

I just love the simplicity of her cards; wouldn't these make a great gift, put inside the little card boxes that came in the Pumpkin kit?

Can't wait to see what you all come up with…remember to email me your work so I can post and brag on you, too,  here on the blog!

Getting Punchy

Scrapbook/ Stamping/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques/ Videos

If you have been around Stampin' Up! for awhile, you know we have some great tools, including punches! Because of their versatility, punches are often my “go to” tool when I'm creating cards and layouts; they are a great value for the money!

Here are just a few tips that perhaps you might not have thought of when it comes to “creating” with your punches:

– create a stencil by using the “negative” image from your punched out shape. This works especially well with the larger punches.

– create a multi-dimensional image by stacking punched pieces onto the page….i.e. stacking circles can create cute snowmen and “bookworms”.

–  by layering or blending different shapes, you can create flowers, animals and other objects; use a heart punch to create a four leaf clover; use the “wing” from the Bird Builder Punch to create a tulip, the bird itself can also be used to make beautiful flowers.

– experiment with border punches to give different looks to your cards and also your mats on scrapbook pages.
To keep your punches sharp, occasionally punch through a piece of aluminum foil. To keep them punching smoothly, without sticking, punch through a piece of waxed paper every so often. If your punch does get stuck, I have a great video on my You Tube channel that will show you how to repair it!
