What’s Up?

Announcements/ Paper crafting/ Tuesday Tips/ Videos

The sky, the moon, the sun…..okay, lame. But here is a REALLY cool thing!

Stampin' Up! offers so many coordinating products, my favorite of which are punches and stamp sets! One great “bundle” is The What's Up Punch which coordinates with the What's Up? Stamp Set and Eclectic Paper Piercing Template.

Check out this short video that shows some great ideas!

Here are the products highlighted in the video; click right on the product images for more details and easy, on-line shopping at my store.

Unfortunately our fabulous Paper Piercing Mat is on backorder for now…BUT you can easily slip a computer mouse pad or piece of foam under the piercing template, and you will get great results!

Embossing Folder Tricks

Scrapbook/ Stamping/ Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

Hey stampers….since Stampin' Up! has several Embossing Folders in our “Weekly Deals” this week, I thought I'd share some of my favorite “embossing folder tricks” you can use to step up your projects!

WeeklyDealsJan27

  • try using a Stampin' Sponge or Sponge Dauber to put ink on the raised parts. You can rub all over the raised image or just choose a few areas. Experiment and see which you prefer!
  • Use Versamark Ink and an embossing heat tool to put some shimmer on the raised parts; again, you can use this technique all over or just on specific areas.
  • Use a “hobby knife” to cut around parts of your embossed image or to cut out an entire piece to use on a card front.
  • Lastly, try using a sanding block or tool on the embossed piece; if you use Cor'dinations paper, because of the white inner “core”, the results can be quite unique. You can also sand embossed pieces created with regular cardstock or patterned (like Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper).

See all the Embossing folders that are on sale in the Weekly Deals section of my online store.

What are some ways you “step up” your embossed cards? Leave me a comment…I always like to learn from you!!

Curvy Keepsake Box

Big Shot/ Die Cut/ Holidays / Special Days

I had to laugh this weekend at my Fill It to the Brim Craft Sale. One of my customers brought her 10 year old daughter who just loves boxes; she was tickled pink when her mom told her she could keep the box from the sale….it was just a regular old shipping box. I've got to get that mom to get the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit Dies so her daughter can make some CUTE boxes…lol.

The holiday season is almost upon us and you know that means lots of gift-giving opportunities! Watch this short video below that shows you how to put together a Curvy Keepsake Box.

Now that you've seen how fun this little box is, pop on over to my online store and order one! You know you can have one made and ready to go so your “other half” can just fill it with a jewelry item and one of your birthday or Christmas presents is ready to go!! I really do try to be your full service Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! 🙂

Oh…if you notice the little Baker's Twine Bow on the box, the Tangerine Tango Baker's Twine is one of the “Weekly Deals” in my online store for this week…you'll get a pack of this versatile accessory for only $2.21 (regular price is $2.95-plus T and S)
