Tart And Tangy Mini Notecard Box

Many of my customers have been asking for simple teacher gift ideas. Since our Occasions Mini Catalog has been extended through June, this project using the Tart and Tangy and One Smart Cookie stamp sets and Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper is perfect. The little box itself is made from a piece of Old Olive Card Stock, 3 1/2 x 8 1/4. This piece is scored lengthwise at 3 1/4, 3 3/4, 7, and 7 1/2 inches. Then, turn the Card Stock and score at 1/2". Cut out the corner edge and then create 1/2 inch "snips" (from the outside edge into the 1/2 inch score line) in order to make flaps to assemble your box. I used a piece of 8 – 10 inch Red Grosgrain ribbon (depending how you want your bow or knot to look) for the front. I used a Red and Green Stampin' Write Marker to color the cherry stamp and then stamped on a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. I punched out using the 3/8 inch circle punch and adhered to a black scallop made using the Scallop Circle Punch. I used Crystal Effects to add "dimension" to the cherry. (Be sure to let this dry completely before adhering to the box!) I adhered to the front of the box on top of the ribbon using 2 Stampin' Dimensionals.

Then you will need 2 pieces of Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper, each cut to 3 1/4 x 1 1/2. Fold down approximately 1/4 inch on each piece to make a little flap and secure it with sticky strip and then adhere these pieces to the front and back of the box. (if you prefer to just leave the piece intact, you can also do that. I just like the little edge for a color contrast).

Each notecard measures 3 x 6 inches and I used Really Red, Old Olive, Bliss Blue and Pumpkin Pie solid Card Stock. They are embellished using little pieces of Summer Picnic paper cut to 3 x 3/4 inch. These pieces are adhered to the front of each card. The little images from the One Smart Cookie stamp set are stamped onto a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and then punched out using the 1/2 inch circle punch. Those little circles are then adhered to circles punched out of Basic Black Card Stock using the 3/4 inch punch. They are then affixed to your card using whatever adhesive you prefer (SNAIL, Stampin' DImensionals, etc.) The little saying for each notecard is then stamped in the front, lower right corner.
