Tuesday Tip – Making Your Own Buttons!

20100803_Believed

Have you ever spent half the day creating the perfect card, headed off to get the perfect embellishment and then realized you used your last Poppy Parade button? Well, you will be glad you stopped by today for my tip!

You can create your own button in any color or size. And best of all, you can do it in no time at all, here's how:

First, decide the size you want and then punch out a circle (or a square for a different twist) using the appropriate sized punch. In my sample below, I actually used our new Owl Punch…the eyes of the owl are 1/4 inch and work perfectly for a small button. I punched out 5 circles of Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper for each button and stacked them one on top of the other using SNAIL Adhesive. I used a sanding block to get rid of the little rough edges left by the punch. I then took my paper piercer and poked through my button to make the button holes. I took some Crystal Effects and put on top of the button, dried with my heat tool and then re-poked the little button holes. I attached to my card with a mini glue dot and I was done! Hope you like it!
