Soft Sayings Kit with Color Theory Memories and More

Hey stampers! I spent part of my weekend crafting with friends and did a bunch of cards pairing the Soft Sayings Kit with Color Theory Memories and More. I actually added additional products to some of the cards and I mention these in the instructions below.

I’m a big fan of kits! Kits are a great way for new stampers to get started and test drive some products. “Seasoned”crafters can use kits on road trips, retreats, or when they just feel creative but don’t want to drag out a ton of supplies. All the kits can be used following the instructions included or you can wander “outside the lines”, coming up with your own designs. You can even add in other coordinating Stampin’ Up! products as I did on some of my cards.

I posted these cards on my Facebook Page (I hope you follow me on Facebook!) and one of my friends asked me to post some instructions…here you go Carol! 🙂

Happy Birthday: I actually cut the card from the Soft Sayings (SS) kit in half and used a 1/2 sheet of Whisper White Thick Cardstock for the card base. I used one of the adhesive backed strips from Memories and More (MM) card pack, cut down to peek out on the side. I used flower and leaf adhesive backed diecut pieces from the kit and added a few glitter enamel dots. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from a photopolymer stamp included in the SS kit.

Love you lots: This is done exactly according to the SS kit instructions, but I added 3 clear faceted gems at the bottom of the card.

I think you are wonderful: exactly as outlined in SS kit instructions: the gold glimmer, tranquil tide and lemon lime leaves are adhesive backed, basically peel and stick…easy peasy!

I’m happy you are in my life: this is a printed note card from the SS kit. I added extra color around the stamped sentiment piece by using a baby wipe I had dabbed in my ink pads. Another way to use baby wipes is to put 2-3 drops of ink refills onto a baby wipe and then use the colored wipe as your ink pad. Ideally use a drop of one color reinker and 2 drops of another. If you add too many you will end up with a muddy color that does not look good!

To my dear friend: I used a SS kit notecard and then layered with a Crushed Curry piece from the MM card pack. The white banner piece also came in the SS kit and I stamped sentiment using the Archival Basic Grey Ink spot, also included in the kit. I am using Basic Grey more often to stamp sentiments on my cards when I want a softer look than Archival Black provides. You’ll notice the gold glimmer paper leaves from the SS kit and s small yellow striped accent adhesive backed piece from MM kit. I finished this card with a few more Glitter Enamel Dots (LOVE THESE!)

Just a Note: done according to SS kit direcitons with one Glitter Enamel Dot added…just because I love them!
