I Almost BECAME The Grinch!

Picture this scenario: It is December 19 and my son, daughter in law, 2 of the grandkids, (Dave, the Stamp Slave stayed behind with the youngest since we figured at one year old she might not last in 9 degree temperature!) 23 year old daughter, and I arrived at the Gaylor Texan Hotel, parked our car and walked into the hotel filled with anticipation for the Grinch ICE show. We had purchased our tickets for 5:00 pm and were ready to just walk in and begin our experience, like we had the last year. After following the snowflakes marking the way to our destination, we arrived only to find 2 horrendous lines! Crowd management was a big problem (crabby people, ill-mannered people were everywhere!) and the hotel staff were not at all prepared for the large group of people….or, perhaps, they had sold WAY too many tickets and didn't allow for this when they sold the tickets.

But, we were there and the little ones were excited, so we trudged along, inch by inch, until we could put on our parkas and walk into the frozen Woo-ville! (only an hour and fifteen minutes late-lol!) Once inside, a grand time was had by all (and I even slid down the ice slide with the kids!) and the long line was but a distant memory! However, next year I will be purchasing the Fast Pass to avoid the lines!
