Hello stampers! It's Mum Season Here in Texas! And I don't mean live, growing mums, rather Homecoming mums! Now, I have to confess. I am from California and we had lovely wrist corsages for our Homecoming activities. So, when we moved to Texas and I started hearing about “mums” for Homecoming, I was perplexed. Then, when I started seeing pictures of these “monster mums”, I couldn't imagine spending hundreds of dollars on these things, every year Freshman-Senior.
Fast forward a few years. I now have a grandson who is a senior in high school and I volunteered to make his girlfriend's mum. Of course, then she wanted me to make his “garter”mum. My grandson hung the moon so of course I eagerly said yes! My daughter in law came over on Sunday and we put together the one for girlfriend. Oh, did I mention we each have hot glue gun injuries on our fingers? But, I digress. It isn't about me, it's about these two awesome seniors and making their homecoming day fabulous!
What do you think? Of course I integrated some Stampin' Up! embellishments, the Mini Gift Bows, available in the Holiday Catalog.
I also punched circle shapes to add some contrast to the letters I used. All that's missing now is attaching pictures in wee little frames and also some blinkie lights…who knew?? 🙂
The BEST part of this is Micaela (girlfriend) had never heard of Stampin' Up! and she loves papercrafting! I told her I would help with a senior scrapbook for her. Who knew that one little rubber stamp would be the beginning of all this! I love what I do!
