Hey stampers! Today's project is a Lovely Words Thinlit Friend Mini Crate. I actually whipped this up when I got home from work today. Seriously, it took me less than 30 minutes, start to finish.
I love the Wood Crate Die for making little gifts for my friends, customers and downline. I am over the moon excited that Stampin' Up! will be putting packages of 3″ x 3″ Whisper White envelopes into the upcoming holiday catalog going live on September 1. It is so easy to create a special notecard using our paper and embellishments. Adding a coordinating envelope is the perfect finishing touch for this Mini Wood Crate Die project.
Let me share how I put this project together.
First, I chose my paper for the little notecard. I picked the Daffodil Delight/Old Olive flower piece from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack for the top layer. I cut a 6″ x 3″piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock for my base, a 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ piece of Old Olive Cardstock for the next layer, finishing with the DSP on the top. I used a 3″ piece of Daffodil Delight Double-Stitched ribbon (I used the side with little lines; the other side has little x's…TWO choices with one roll of ribbon!) and incorporated the “friend” die from the Lovely Words Thinlits. I cut “friend” out of Dazzling Diamonds Paper and used a Stampin' Sponge to add a little pop of Old Olive ink on top. I used my Paper Snips to cut out the word, rather than leaving it in the frame. These little dies are so versatile! I'm working on a video to show you different ways they can be used.
For the finishing touches to my notecard I found a button in my voluminous collection (yes, I am a button hoarder!) to pop onto the front of the crate and I added a piece of coordinating DSP to the inside of the envelope.
