Embossing Folder Tricks

Hey stampers….since Stampin' Up! has several Embossing Folders in our “Weekly Deals” this week, I thought I'd share some of my favorite “embossing folder tricks” you can use to step up your projects!

  • try using a Stampin' Sponge or Sponge Dauber to put ink on the raised parts. You can rub all over the raised image or just choose a few areas. Experiment and see which you prefer!
  • Use Versamark Ink and an embossing heat tool to put some shimmer on the raised parts; again, you can use this technique all over or just on specific areas.
  • Use a “hobby knife” to cut around parts of your embossed image or to cut out an entire piece to use on a card front.
  • Lastly, try using a sanding block or tool on the embossed piece; if you use Cor'dinations paper, because of the white inner “core”, the results can be quite unique. You can also sand embossed pieces created with regular cardstock or patterned (like Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper).
