This was done using a fun, currently popular technique: “dip-dye” or “ombre” technique. Ombré is a French word meaning “to shade” and is often used to describe a dip-dye effect given to fabric in which the shades of color graduate from light to dark. Fashion designers have done this to an entire garment. That's a little ambitious for me, but take a look at this video where this technique is demonstrated by one of Stampin' Up!'s fabulous trainers.
