Happy Friday crafting peeps! I am having so much fun creating with the Everything is Rosy medley of products.
My favorite thing about this box of goodies is all of the rose gold that is inside! This is a new type of product offering for Stampin' Up!, so some of my customers have been a little confused as to everything that is included. For $80 (plus tax and shipping) you get a stamp set, a coordinating set of dies, eight 6″ x 6″ sheets of Rose Gold Foil, forty-eight sheets of 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, six sheets of die-cuts, two full rolls of ribbon, a sheet of mirrored embellishments, Â and a bottle of Rose Gold Shimmer Paint!
I have 2 cards to share with you today and I think you'll notice the rose gold on both of them! 🙂
To get the shimmer background, I used a sponge with a tiny bit of shimmer paint and “swept” it on the 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, starting at the top. It gets lighter near the bottom so I did this same technique again, starting at the bottom and working up, just to make sure I had the right coverage. I punched a 2 1/4″ circle from one of the DSP pages and then adhered several of the floral stickers behind this circle. I chose my tag and then used a “third generation” stamped flower in Melon Mambo ink, followed by my sentiment in Night of Navy ink.
If you haven't heard of the term “third generation” stamping it's just a fancy way of saying “stamping three times without reinking in between”.
I added a small piece of the pink ribbon to my tag and popped it onto the card front using a few Stampin' Dimensionals.
To finish the card, I attached this piece to a Whisper White Thick cardstock base. Personally, when I'm using layers and embellishments, I prefer to use one of our thick cardstocks. I think it is sturdier.
My next card uses a gorgeous piece of DSP with lots of rose gold!
For this card, I stamped the sentiment on a 2″ Whisper White circle and attached this to a 2 1/4″ circle punched from one of the Rose Gold foil sheets. The layer is a 2 1/4″ x 4″ piece of the floral DSP, cut it into three strips, each 3/4″. I mounted these on a 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Rococco Rose, one of our new In Colors.
I added one of the die-cut stickers to complete my card. Easy, peasy…done!
