Technique Tuesday – Using Layering To Make Your Projects “Pop”

I'm often asked by my customers how to create cards and scrapbook layouts with dimension, yet not use a lot of extra supplies. Layering is one way that I use up my scraps and also step up my cards and pages. As this card shows, you can combine layering with other cardmaking and scrapbooking techniques to design awesome projects.

In Sunday''s post I talked about Marina Mist, one of our hottest new colors. In this card, a small piece of that color is layered onto the card and the coordinating Stampin' Write Marker is used to add just a little bit of color on the focal image. Small pieces of Victoria Crochet Trim (118481) and Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119959) are layered underneath a small piece of Early Espresso Card Stock (119686). The small tag was created by layering Very Vanilla (101650) on top of Not Quite Navy Card Stock (101722).

With just a few stamp sets, card stock, embellishments, and a few colors of ink, you can create handmade cards, gift packaging, memory albums and so much more!
